And I fear forums. Especially this one. I've been reading through the posts here since December and I don't like what I've been seeing.
 
Why do you fear this forum? You'll be fine if you don't post anything stupid.
 
Well, as I said, I've been reading the posts on this forum and I don't like what I've been reading. Specifically, one of the many things I notice in this forum from other forums is when someone says something, "theres already a thread about this" or "this has been discussed before" or "do a search before you post". Yep. I've seen in other forums how newbies can't post anything anymore for fear from being flamed by people with over a thousand posts and stuff.
 
Bah, just do what I do and don't post threads.

Meh, I already started this thread.

Can I ask some questions in this thread and get them answered? (This may be kind of a pointless question, but in other forums I'm asked to post things in other threads that don't have to do with the topic. In this case, it doesn't have to do with my intro thread except that I just want to know some things before I start posting.) Oh, and yeah, so I asked a question above but I still want it answered and I want to ask more questions and get more answers... Yeah.

Well, I guess the next question would be...

Any good sites I can be referred to that's related to Half-Life/Half-Life 2? I played both games but apparently that wasn't enough to know anything I need to know about Half-Life. I can't really afford Raising the Bar, yet... And I just recently found out that City 17 is in Europe. Anywhere I can get more information?

Hmm.. well, you can always just rummage through the forums.. there have been plenty of discussions about various things here.. but theres no central archive at this location.

Ack. Well, I was hoping maybe some links like:

Maybe some Half-Life RP forums if they exist. It would also be nice if I can get pictures and names of all the Xen lifeforms. I've been searching these forums for weeks. Other interesting stuff like maybe that Half-Life webcomic I found long ago but forgot to add to my favorites.

I'd save up for Raising the bar lol
also, get GCFscape or some such program, and root around in the GCF's for info.. thats how people originally found the names for stuff like that, with PAKexplorer etc.

I couldn't find any other way of posting in this forum by being a guest. Besides, I fear everything. I still do things, though. Anyway, yeah, this forum is scary, but, eh, if I lose with this forum I could just go to another one.

Actually, I was invited here by a friend of mine who said he was getting a hard time. He stopped posting here, and I really agree with what he disliked of this forum. Oh well, though, I hope I don't go through what he did. I won't say his name, either. Heh.
 
Well, what didn't he like? Oh, and if he posts in the Half-life 2-related forums, then yeah. Those guys are craaaazy.
 
Nah it was Rumors and Speculation. He didn't like the vicious bashing of his conspiracy theories and the constant "STFU" just because he didn't know something that wasn't even on the games. He did quite a bit of research, nothing outside of the Half-Life games, though. Just like me, he doesn't have Raising the Bar and he hasn't been in this forum for long.

Right. That's an HL2-related forum. I'm tellin' ya man, those dudes are EVIL.
 
Agh, dang, I thought that you were talking about a forum called, "Half-Life 2-related," or at least a category with that name. I checked and it appears that there's two forums with the descriptions similar to, "non-HL2 stuff" and, "anything related to Half-Life 2," which must've confused me. Curse my subconscious.

I really don't see what I can post here other than HL2-related. I guess I'll have to face the evil.

You can always have fun with us in the Off-Topic forums! It's great here! The politics forum gets a little rough, but that's how politics are, ya know?
 
Yeah. I'm at a political science RP forum and some Republican freaked out because he thought everyone hated him. His logic was:

1 Republican + a RP forum filled with people roleplaying as liberals = him being called an extremist fascist Bush-loving nazi freak, etc.

So yeah, politics are freaky. Hopefully I can solve most of your problems... Eventually. The NationStates forum is scarier than this one, though.
 
Oh yeah. I think I remember seeing that somewhere around here. Still, I'm already dedicated to a long-term region, unfortunately. Yep.
