I am right now going to France.

Hehe.

Been there, done that. But really, France is beautiful. Take ever chance with the girlz, they're :naughty:

 Crazy I am going to Paris to visit my Grandparents. I am taking off aroud Mid-July.

Don't forget the French girls!
And watch out with imigrants, if you know what I mean....

Again some Americans dick heads I can see, let me tell you that the French were smart not to enter that stupid war, who is in big trouble now, eh ?

what are you talking about? why are americans dickheads? and why are you bringing up any kind of war right now?

because it's fairly obvious why you said "my condolences". you see?

anyway have a nice time farrow.

Telling him that you are sorry for him only means that you don't like the French.

adrien, idiots aren't representative of all americans, please remember that. france is a great place, look forward to going back some day soon.

great place, but id never want to go there again. but i wont let adrien oppress my opinions though.

The only American idiots, are the one that had the mentality to change to "Freedom Fries" and to throw away good wine, they even made a "anti French movement"
I think that kind of people is stupid, allways thinking that their country make the best desitions.

no one cares to "oppress" your opinions, ghost.. lol what a funny phrase.. it's just that your opinion is stupid and uninformed.. so people naturally will make fun of you for that. i'm sure you're used to it by now.

Lil' Timmy in sense of humour shocker!

;) :E

lol, don't PM me ghost.. why don't you explain why you hate france so much if you're concened about us getting the wrong impression.

I find it insulting that I was called American :(

Im English, its my duty to oppress the French. (Thats a joke, I go to France every year, love it there.)

Have a good time Farrowlesparrow.

I've been to France... we drove through, so the experience was brief. I think we stayed the night in a small town. The only problem was that no one there understood English! I guess it's a nice country, though.

lol.. i guess one should expect natives to speak their own language ;) i was surprised by that in Nice, because it's such a resort town, i assumed everyone would speak some english. funny thing is, a lot of people actually can speak english, but they don't b/c they think they will sound silly. i encountered this many times, even though their english was much better than my french

I've driven across europe with my mom. Germany, France and Spain. We stayed in small towns, which was cool. Northern Spain is completely different from the southern beaches and tourist traps. It's much more poor. But on the whole, it had more atmosphere than the south.

I think I'm gonna write a book 'From a harmless discussion into a US bash topic in 3 easy steps'

Anyway, are you going for the Tour de France Farrow?

heh wow the "my condolences" comment was funny. it was just a silly little comment. i'm amazed you guys took it to heart so much. think on why it angers you, and then reflect a bit :) no harm meant by the guy, c'mon.

btw, i wanna visit france... i should have gone a few years ago when i was fluent. but now i suck at french :(:(:(

btw farrow, have fun in france!! :D

edit:oops, should have put this in an edit :(

you should go anyway, your french would get up to speed very quickly, took me about a week before i was understanding the conversations of passers-by. it'd been several years since i'd studied/spoken french.

well, everyone is different, but for me part of the experience was being surrounded by 'newness'. not being able to understand everything around you heightens that, imo. also, remember that when and where you go will have a huge impact on whether you'll be able to get by speaking english or not.

take a phrase book just for reminders. everyone was extremely patient and helpful :) (at least in the southern parts i was in)

Have a great time Farrow. I've never been to France, although I would love to go visit my cousin there someday :)

oh ffs, does every. single. freaking. post turn in to a political debate?

Just have fun over there.

I'm still bitter at france for the whole napolean incident. what business has he invading mother russia?

neeeeway!!!

Have fun in France mate!

Great place. Sunny, nice people, nice people....

I've been in France three times, but only Paris...kinda nice, but London was better.

bring us some pictures m8. And Have a nice holiday :)

France owns. The statue of liberty is really a rocket, and someday we'll take it to Jupiter... and marry our cousins, because they're so attractive.

Well I'm back...I think we have some pictures on the camera (Not many though). We stayed in a place called La Baule, its more of a French tourist destination, apart from us i saw only 1 English person and very few people of other nationalities. It is in southern Brittany, and very nice. There are so many hotels along the beach front, its litterally as far as the eye can see. Anyway, we stayed in a nice house on the hill :) I have to say though, having been 3 times now I would very much like to go somewhere else other than brittany...Its nice, but southern France is where i wanna go next year, or at least somewhere thats "different". I have too much to explain about the holiday really, it was just all good. I wish i spoke more french, i can just about manage if they speak slowly but i feel so ignorant when they talk English back to me. However, one day i decided to go ona long walk down the beach and i did as you say meet some of the local french girls...They seemed quite interested in me largely i suspect because i was foriegn and had a funny hat, as opposed to being one of the beutiful people that litter the country...Coming back to England is always sad because i really notice just how many fat people there are here, I don't want to sound nasty but i ssuecpt a Frenchman feels coming to England like i felt going to America, puts everything in proportion ;)

Anyway, i had a great time and hope to visit again soon.

Edit: I've been scanning the threads (and there are a lot of them to scan :O) and there just seem to be so many closed and deleted threads, i gave up counting them.
