I am sure going to miss Foxtrot

It's not necessarily, but we don't know what's in the future for us. Hetairia was a major part of our internet lives and this has pretty much ruined it. It's really, really sad about what's happened actually because it takes so much fun away from it, and now we have to deal with a trillion people asking us about it and why they're not in, etc.

We just were a group of friends and now we're made out to be all evil.

Here's a hint: Declare Heitaria dead and start a new secret society, duh.

This thing has been blown way out of proportion. It was a private forum for Christ's sake, not the Illuminati.

I never had the opportunity to be acquainted with Foxtrot more thoroughly, but he did come across to me as a well-spoken, fine young man. He gave me some valuable advice, most of which I'll never forget it.

Thank you, Foxtrot.
Seconded.

Which would be circumventing a ban, which is against the rules.

The rules don't quite apply if you're already banned though, correct?

It's what happens when you get into personal conflicts with mods.

Do you listen whatsoever? Do you bother to read what was posted above? Or do you just want to believe what you want and not listen to reason or the truth?

Then why would there be a rule against circumventing a ban?

Wow, people are posting too fast in here. Foxtrot shouldn't have gone crazy with this whole 'hetairia' thing but it is partially your guys fault for being so obvious about it. If you wanted to keep it a secret you should have been much more subtle. For example having 'hetairia' in your sigs isn't the best idea.

Thats where you're wrong.

i think if all he did was just reveal a site that you guys had then you guys are blowing it way way way out of proportion. I mean you guys can just make a new site not like it matters that much.

He was acting like a complete prat and then when the mods said "Stop it" he just went on about mods banning him because he revealed the truth.

Hmmm... I am just waking up now to read all of this. How crazy. Foxtrot banned hmm? And all over an exclusive forum that is apparently out there of apparent 'veterans', but entirely exclusive from the rest of the veterans and general main forumgoers who contribute the most?

Bleh... people who are into clique's are retarded.

A) There's no evidence he even supported the claim that hetairia was going to kill halflife2.net, or that he spread that PM.

B) He wasn't trolling anywhere, I looked at the threads where he supposedly was, and it was blown completely out of proportion. He wasn't even warned about it.

SimonomiS said:

Probably if you're banned temporarily, as in suspended, then circumventing it would make the ban permanent. Otherwise it's pretty pointless. Foxtrot was banned permanently, to the best of my knowledge.

Read any locked thread on the front page of GOT.

Well, I've taken some time to read all of this bollocks. Can we just forget it? It really isn't anything. This thread is just another excuse to carry on this stupid dispute.

ARE YOU SURE, ARE YOU REALLY SURE? Would you even accept a ban if you were wrong? Or are you to afraid of the consequences?

He was trolling, Pi even saw it himself.

I don't actually think its been said whether it's permanent or temporary. I'd hope its temporary, just to give him time to calm down and let the whole thing blow over, or if he keeps bringing up a dead and buried topic he might as well be permanently banned.

another invite-only forum apparently begun by disenchanted hl2.netters.

You can't just forget it because Foxtrot was permanently(?) banned for ridiculous reasons and without proper warning.

I agree. If you search for hetairia you'll find (at the time) obscure references to it (and the slight mocking of people not in the know).

I know, it's not that big of a deal. If some forum members want to have their own personal place to chat, that's fine, there's no reason to get upset about not being invited.

Haha, or search for "airiateh".

That has nothing to do with this. And, he did support the claim. Many times, in fact.

Are you blind? He was blatantly warned, but he thought that he was only going to be banned because some Hetairians were mods.

He was warned twice about being a troll. He was then banned for it.

i second that.

this is way out in left field, but I'm reminded of a quote:

We should add to the rules:

Don't post if you're bored, especially about secret websites! This rule falls under the "No Trolling" rule, for some reason or another.

Lex Luthor said:

Another good example. It seems like that's what most people are upset about. Not that you guys had your own forum, but that you made vague references to it all the time and gave the impression that you were 'superior' in some way because you were 'in'.

It was fun seeing how daring we could be before people started seriously asking questions and being interested, yet nobody clicked onto it until you were all blatantly told about it.

Still, all good things must come to an end.

Most people get a bit more slack though, don't you think? A temporary banning... then a permanent banning after repeated offenses after coming back.

I still don't get why it has to end. Just because people here know about it now doesn't mean that they can join. You've still got the website and the private forums, the only diffenence is that now it isn't a 'secret society'.

Especially for long time members.

Seconded.

I think Hetairia's only purpose for existance was secrecy.

Warned about what? Posting about Hetairia? I don't think that's punishable.

Yeah, it does seem a little harsh to give him an IP ban. A one month ban seems slightly more reasonable. After that, if he comes back and keeps it up, give him a perma-ban.

Saying it's shutting down adds to the drama, and gives it a "look what you did to us, you should be ashamed!" effect. (it's not really shutting down)

That and jokes he made in the Snails thread.

Note the emphasis on jokes.

Yeah, and that was like a day before he was banned.

That presupposes a temporary ban. Foxtrot is gone for good (or so the mods and Heitaria want us to think).
