Only 18.99 at Target, I couldn't resist.

So get my pumped about how awesome this show is so I can skip sleep to watch it tonight.

I skipped sleep to watch the series.....

at least 4 times. Great series, kicks ass, and a great buy definately. Good Catch.

Um, greatest show ever? I suggest you watch it from the time you wake up tomorrow. All of it.

Meh, I'm actually really tired, haha. Plus, I want to finish the movie I'm watching now before I start Firefly.

Firefly is better than any movie you're watching.

Firefly is better than sleeping.

Firefly is just as good as sex from your girl.

Firefly, it's whats for dinner.

Firefly, just do it.

etc. etc.

It's really good.

The only thing better would be (William) Blake's Seven, and that doesn't even exist.

Serinity, however, is...disappointing.

It's still very watchable.

It wrapped up the story which the series didn't, so it was worth watching :)

Firefly is overrated.
Don't get me wrong (I have the DVD's) I like the show but just the way people go on and on about it. Its great but it isn't that great. If only it was allowed to continue, the quality might have caught up with the praise that's been heaped on it.

BLASPHEMY!!!

Firefly is bloody awesome. Good buy!

Firefly is the win!
Seriously I cannot stop watching the series, it's just so awesome. Remember to read the comics too before the movie.

How is the show related to the movie story wise? Is it the same story cramped in to a two hour movie? I saw the movie, and I liked it. Thinking about getting the show, but I fear I may have spoiled it by watching the film.

The movie takes place 6 months or so after the show. You spoiled a few things for yourself (like the death of a few beloved characters), but you should be fine. The message is still there.

And the episode that makes you think everybody is dead or something, but we know that they dont...since they are alive in the movie! :D

I just watched the pilot. Twas awesome, I can tell I'm really going to enjoy this...

This thread makes me want to rewatch the series.
I will do very soon :)

I must ask, I love this show as much as the next person...

But really, what made it so great?
The show bombed after one season, what went wrong?

I think the characters, the kind of homey feeling of Serenity, the entire plot and universe and how it all interacted... it just has that atmosphere, you can't get enough of it.

I've watched the whole season at least half a dozen times and I still get excited before every viewing.

Exactly how I feel about it... but I'm in a smallish debate about the show with a friend.

He's really trying hard to downsize it because it was cancelled after an incomplete 1st season.
Bringing SciFi behemoths such as Stargate SG-1 and Battlestar Galactica into the fray.

It's getting rather annoying.

Stargate SG-1 can't even remotely compare to how good Firefly is, and the Battlestar Galactica remake, while pretty good, isn't of the same caliber either.

Pretty much his only arguement is that he strongly believes that the fans were the cause of Firefly's demise. :|

Hell no! On the contrary, the only reason the movie Serenity was made was because all the Firefly fans were rabid about the show being canceled. No other canceled TV show to my knowledge has had a high-budget movie based off of it purely because the fans wouldn't stop pestering the company.

Another argument he brings up is that the fans never contributed money and the like to maybe start the show back up?

I'm sure we would if it would do anything, but it wouldn't.

And I do recall there being numerous petitions too.

Firefly has a rather large fanbase too for such a short-lived show.

I really hope that some day an RPG gets made from the show/movie.
It had wonderful video game potential.

It'd have to be done perfectly, though, or the game developer would get overrun by horrified, bloodthirsty fans

The RPG would have to be based in the Firefly world, not around the Firefly characters. Like, something like KOTOR would be amazing.

Oh God, yes... minus the turn-based stuff, not that it's bad.
But Firefly would have to have realtime combat.

Owning/Creating a ship, managing a crew, managing supplies, looking for jobs, meeting interesting people, etc.

Gah, must not hype self up... must... not... :(

Sorry everyone, just checked in for a brief announcement;

Firefly is the best thing to happen since Thomas Edison said: "It's dark in here, I should do something about that".

Thankyou.

And also, Fox sucks.

I beg to differ.

Firefly is the best thing to happen since God said, "Let there be light!"

And it's a close second.
