At the scene, I believe it's in Sand Traps, where the guy is on the rock and his buddy is dying in the sand and telling you not to walk on the sand, there's already ONE dead antlion lying dead near them. For some reason, you can actually pick it up with the orange Manipulator.

Nothing too special, but you can kill the other antlions with the corpse, by launching it at them.

I didn't know until today that you can launch antlions with the gravity gun and knock them on their back. Fun all around.

i had the same bug happen to me at nova prospekt, after i accidentally killed one of my own antlions with a harpoon, its body became throwable with the gravity gun.

The orange gravity gun may be more powerful in these levels because you need for it to have the ability to flip the buggy... I had noticed that you could shoot the Antilions while trying to shoot my buggy over, I accidentilly hit them ... I was hoping it'd kill them, though.

oh well...other people might want to know...

if you use the primary fire on the ant-lions you will knock them over and they will lie imobilized on their back for a few seconds...while on their back they take more damage from the regular weapons...

Oh yeah (about using the "shoot" function on them to knock them upside down)

That was my main ant lion strategy. Knock them on the back, one pistol shot to the soft abdomen and they die, rather than repeatedly shooting the shell until they die and wasting ammo.

Whenever the antlions attacked me i just got my shotgun out and waited until they flew at me but this strategy sounds much better especially as you don't waste much ammo with more important guns i.e the shotgun.

You trying to kill the Ant lion guard? Well you've revived an old thread.
Just shoot rockets at it, till you run out, then rifle grenades, and the right click on the shotgun(double shot) when it gets close. Kill the normal ant lions first.
Tip: wait for it to charge at you, then do a sprinting side step, it works best if you stand in front of a wall, it will smash into it and daze it, then pump it full of shells. Repeat and finish with a light simmer and a serving of basil. Bon apetite.

I liked fighting the one in Nova Prospekt the most. It busted through the wall and started running after me, scared me the first time.

I used my rockets on the antlion guards, then just lobbed barrels and stuff at it till it died. No use wasting ammo!

The one in Nova Prospekt I always run away from, but it seems that about a half to a third of the time it's able to follow me into the main hall. Requires some coaxing to do that though...

When you meet the guard for the first time: Make it come in range of the gunner on the top of the fence. He will help you a lot.
