Right here on the forums. Liberals vs. Conservatives. Even though most of you live in the same country...you sound as if you would gladly die for either being a liberal or a conservative. It's quite silly really...seeing two common people complaining so much because of one's label and one's beliefs. Well...That's politics.

I think this thread makes a valuable point. Not about civil war; that seems slightly unlikely - but about being nice to each other. Conservatives! Liberals are people too. Liberals! Conservatives are people too. This forum is so damn venemous sometimes. ;(

I have conservative friends and we get along amicably. I don't think that any hostility shown on this board is a sign of deep-rooted hatred. It's just easier to be nasty without the personal connection.

Well how is fighting and killing your friend over his label and beliefs any more reasonable than killing him over his nationality? Nationality is a label, after all.

Well politics is nasty but I mostly try to keep personal insults away from it. And people in the states don't discuss politics like this in regular life; it just doesn't work like that. I work with pretty much all conservative Bush voters/Rush listeners but we have not discussed politics once.

i have plenty of liberal and conservative friends, i mean, hell, my most recent girlfriend was liberal as anything, provided for some great, good-natured debates and kept things lively, for a while at least
