I can't get into the game

Someone please help. When I try to enter the game, an error message pops up and says "Your graphics card must support at least pixel shader version 1.1 to view this item." How can I fix this. I have a feeling it has to do with my video card?

I have an hp Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC. It has an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (4500MHD)

Has it worked before? It may be the video card. I don't know if it can run on an Intel graphics media accelerator. I may be wrong, but I think that it is running the video off the processor itself.

Well, I used to have an integrated Intel GMA 915 on my Dell GX280 system before, but it worked... barely. Maybe your video chip is an older version, so it's just not supported.

Super EDIT: Yours is waaay beyond my old Intel, so it should work.

It supports Shader model 3.0, so that shouldn't be a problem. I think it's more likely a driver issue. Download the latest driver from the HP website.

If you get it working, don't set the graphics settings too high - it's a weak graphics card.

All you need to do there is sellect your operating system and under the fields you'll find the drivers.

What do you mean?
The drivers should be .exe and if you're using Internet Explorer, there should also be a window popping up asking either to Run, Save or Cancel. Other browsers should also have it like that.

Never mind, I downloaded it, and there are still problems. I still can't get in. Maybe it is a video card problem, because when I enter other Steam games the "Unknown Video Card" window pops up. I can play those games well, but not Ep. 2

This is weird. I have an hp Pavilion dv4-1430us PC laptop with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD. All my steam games work. They get a little laggy at a few points, but that's because of my video card. All the games except HL2 Episode 2. It fails to start up correctly. The weird stuff is that my dad has the same laptop as me, just different size and color, same driver and video card, and the game works fine on that. I can't figure out the problem.


Also, the XP in the office room fails to start ANY steam game. It has a compatible video card. No error message is shown when it crashes.

What is going on with the computers?
