Today's been one helluva day.
On the way home from work, as I was crossing an intersection (green light, I was in the pedestrian corridor) I was nailed by a pickup truck making a left turn. I flew through the air about 15-20 feet and slammed into a snowbank (I've always hated Canadian winters, but now I'm very thankful for snow :E). Somehow the only injuries I have are a very bruised/scraped leg and a swollen elbow (the truck hit me on my left side). I truly thought I was going to die when I saw that truck headed for me, and I'm still kind of in a daze 8 hours after the accident. I guess I'm just very very lucky. If I was in a slightly different spot I would have been hit head-on and probably would've went under his truck. I'd probably be dead right now.
And another thing, the cops were going to TICKET ME! Apparently the driver of the truck told them that I was jaywalking (utter bullshit, I was crossing where pedestrians are designated to cross), which is funny because right after the accident I heard him say "I didn't see him, I just heard the thud and I looked and saw him flying through the air". So if he didn't see me how could he know I wasn't in the pedestrian corridor? ****ing prick. But otherwise the other bystanders and stuff were helpful and whatnot. But yeah, I don't really know what's going to happen with the driver, or me... maybe I'll get a ticket in the mail or something. Get hit by a car, pay a fine. Gotta love this country.
Anyway, just thought I'd share my day with you guys.
