well, not loved. I hated the cliffhanger, but it really got intresting during that time. it boggled my mind, and before when D.O.G lets you into the citidal, and you see what the **** is going on in there, and you get the upgraded gravity gun, it all makes up for it.

thats all I have to say. :upstare:

your not alone.....i thought the ending was excellent....

obviously it was excellent because it pissed a lot of people off

well, I liked the effects wen the time stopped in the ending... so cool.

There wasnt anything wrong with the endign i thought, it was very well done

i too loved the end, had to go back and do it twice just to watch time slow down:D

yeah it was hard enough... you fight 2 gunships and at the same time stop breen reach the portal... pretty exhausting.

It was really good. I was expecting an ending around that time, but it just came out of nowhere. In a way you do kind of have a boss fight, it's just not as obvious as usual games. Destroy the teleporter while being shot at by 2 gunships. While trying to do it within time before Breen reaches the top.

I like the way Valve did it, it's better than those crap bosses where you have to beat an odd monster who has the strangest achille's heel, or beat 100s of Germans running at you.

Maybe they could have had more than 2 gunships, just to keep you on your toes, but I liked it. I thought it was more about the story than the how many times I die before I beat the game.
Dying so often in a game removes the suspence and believability too.

I agree, fighting all those combine + a strider + two gunships with the supergravgun is better than any single boss.

the ending was quite easy for me though... shot the 2 gunships down... shot the shields off the teleport... WHAM time stops aso

Yes it was quite easy, they possibly could have put in more things to defend the teleporter, gunships, combine troops, or even a strider walking around on the rooftop, I dunno. Or increased the speed of Breen's ascent. But it was a good experience all the same.

alright i literally beat the game approximately 2 minutes ago, and the last two chapters with the super charged gravity gun were probably my single favorite levels in the entire game, may be the best levels in an fps i've ever played.

I remember when people were kind of sad that the gravity gun couldn't pick up bodies or grab people in mid air, which was revealed a little later after e3 2k3, but after playing through the last parts i am so glad that they didn't reveal anything about it.
loved the ending

yeah although it was unclear it was a really cool ending
like a movie

Yeah, I thought the ending was awesome. I'm so glad they didn't have a cliche/unbelievable "get out of the Citadel before it falls down on your head" sequence. I can't believe people who were dissappointed with the ending because I thought it was great.

Ya know why?

Because the G-Man pwns you all.

I was getting fully prepared for a Metroid Style escape sequence, followed by meeting a radioactive Breen at the end that reveals his TRUE POWER! And then, expecting that, the real ending just came out of nowhere and blew my mind.

Thus, I deem it the best video game ending ever.

I loved the ending, I thought it was bloody well made and a wonderful change from the whole 'end boss' style of previous games, I liked how it ended with story instead of action, something that I as a huge RPG fan as well as FPS fan thought was a bold and praiseworthy move,

Why did you make a thread about it then if you dont care what anyone else thought?

lol the last levels were good .. but the "real ending" was shit :
the sequence with the g-man! it was too short and didnt explain anything .. and it was really dumb not to offer you a choice :\ .
i need something to think about .. aah and the best ending of a videogame ever is still the ending of HL1 !!

I mean it was a good ending and everything but after 6 years I just expected a substantially better explanation.
