Can anybody explain to me what's so attractive about CS:S? ( i never played original CS, so I'm new to this)..

I really dig Call of Duty and COD UO, but I don't get CS:S at all. High hardware reqs, hacks, limited number of maps, no prone,no lean, weird hitboxes, hacks, no vehicles, and did i mention that every time you play there's a feeling that somebody hacks?

At least in CS:S you need to use tactics...but I also tried HL2-DM... <shudder>... Now this is the MP made for monkeys!!!

It was WAY different back then, wasn't always the same.

There's no prone and stuff because the gameplay is meant to be quick.

I suppose that it is possible that you "don't like" the game?

I'm sure not everybody does.

His list was "gay"? How mature.
How about actually answering his question instead of just flaming him (I say flame HIM, but you actually just flamed yourself with a horrible post)

Troika: I think alot of gamers still play cs:s because it reminds them of the old cs. I know that I have alot of good memories of playing cs 1.3...good times.

There you got a few of the big disadvantages with CS:S compared to other games in the same genre. Call of Duty is much more developed in these areas, it also features ability to bash with any type of weapon. I find it strange that they didn't add such a simple thing into CS:S. While it would render the knife pretty much pointless it's still a natural step in developement IMHO. I guess Valve is afraid to change a winning concept.

There cheats in COD like aimbot and wallhacks but Punkbuster keeps 90% of the away. 10% is up to admin of course.

In a year of playing COD I saw cheaters maybe 5-6 times on PB-protected servers.

COD isn't the most popular online game in the world, cs & css (and their hacks) are.

I would really like to flame you for that initial post, but i wont. Instead i will point out why "I" have enjoyed CS for over 6 years.

1. Teamwork (not quite so apparent on public servers)
2. Waiting for the round to finish before respawning (this forces the players to get better instead of rushing countless times to their death)
3. Instead of being all about the realism it's more about the gameplay (ie: no crosshair movements for breathing and other non-sense)
4. Simplicity (other games use more concepts such as prone and gun-butting, this wouldn't work so well as people would get you from behind all the time, the maps aren't designed the same as other games)
5. Objectives (ok not original but true, it's not about killing everyone although that does work, there is a point to the maps like bombing or rescueing)

I could go on with more, but this will do. If you think it's bad now, you should've seen it before. At least there's no more bunny hopping (for those who remember).

One more thing, as was said before, there's hacks for every game. Find a server that's well moderated if that's your key concern. Also, remember that people like myself have been playing this game for a long time and WILL own you most likely. This doesn't mean we cheat, it means we know the maps and where people hide, and we check those spots and sometimes pre-fire if low on health. We can also hear you running like a noisey elephant so don't be surprised if we drop down behind or infront of you with a well placed headshot.

Well said.

Let me add:
It's hard to become very good, but once you are, you get to enjoy clearing a room filled with opponants while making sick moves, have everyone who's already dead watch you do it, and hear them say things like "GG", "well done", or (only if you're really good)"cheater" after respawn.

actually i tore his argument appart with my razor sharp wit and deadly put downs

just like i did o your mum actually

he was bitching about crap that is any game as if it was only css and you are off topic

CS:S isn't for everyone. It has a bitch-steep learning curve and is a frustrating game even when you're good. But it's rewarding on the rare occasions when you do get it right, which is what makes it so damn addictive. Great game.

Exclamatio - do yourself a favour, buddy, and drop it.
