I dont get mIRC?

I dont get it ? im new to irc and i dont get it i know its a chat utility but no one says anything so if no one says anything why the hell so many people use it?

if you're joinging and nobody is talking it may simply be that nobody is there , a lot of people "idle" ( leave their computer / mirc on while they do other things )

It's not unusual for there to be over 100 people not talking.

Its simple, its more of a "nerdy" chat place. Not really a fun place for some.

Too true. For a minute there I thought the guy was not joining existing chatrooms and instead making his own, hence there being nobody there...

IRC rules. its a bit of a dated way to talk tho, with mic programs like TS2 and VENT, plus all of the instant messangers- and its very basic, only allowing you do do little more than talk (no sophisticated commands really). But it does its job, and nothing has surpassed it in chatroom talking yet.
