I downloaded the BF2142 demo! *shocker*

I know, I said it was stupid, and a bad game. You know what? I was right. I download the demo, install it, installer crashes. I think, "Ok..it happens." and try again. It works this time, and I get the game up and running. EVERY possible variant of my CyberPitz name is used. "Cyb3rPitz" "Cyb3rP1t5" "CyberPitz"...I ended up having to create an account using "CyberG0ats3". *sigh* Well, that took a whole 20 minutes to find a name I could remember. Now for the servers. "Wow...they came up pretty smooth..lets try this demo server!" Starts to load....crashes. "O...k?" Open it up again, crashes..again... Reinstall...oops, crashes there..gotta retry the install! Get it open, **** what was the name I had to resort to??? oh yeah, that's right. Ok..try to join another server...oops, crash. I give up. Screw it.

Sounds like installing windows. I don't think it's physically possible for one to encounter that many problems but well done anyway. Your consolation prize is one free internet.

I didn't have a tough time installing the demo. I did have a hard time of trying to firgure out an available name. I also had a VERY hard time playing more than 5 min. It would just randomly crash on me and they said it was the server load. Then they said they fixed it in which they didn't of course. :upstare:

Well, I ran my system on that site where you could figure out how the game will run and such, and it said that I couldn't run it, since my card is a 6600 varient.

Heh I'm such a sucker for hype. Everybody was saying it was great though and everything. :upstare: At least I still have access to fileplanets exclusive download speeds. Those speeds suck too anyways because some files download sluggishly.

Played 35 hours and had the game crash on me probably 3 times. I had the same name issues when I signed up for BF2 not long ago. But you have fun with your hate train, lots of people aboard this one

No, I make a thread to show that the game is horribly created. If it's MY fault the game crashes, why are there so many other threads in different forums with the same problem? Oh that's right, it's OUR problem we can't play, definately not the company who created the shitty game with shitty code.

And I'm sorry, but I seriously doubt that somebody already has the name "Cyb3rP1tz". After looking, well hell, nobody does. It just said it was in use, when in fact, no. It wasn't. Either they have a certain filter that nobody knows about, or when it checks for the name to be in use, it gets confused and thinks it is when it is indeed not. So yes, it is the games fault. Way to try to flame but fail.

And no, this isn't a "BF2 is so much better" thread. Hell, BF2 can go to hell. BF2 was the learning game, where you stop buying into EAs bullshit.

How did you check. Theres no list of demo usernames that I can find. There are some fairly obscure filters in place to be fair, so it may well have been a filter issue.

However, I wasn't trying to flame you. If I wanted to flame you, I would have said "Stop being a piss ant little cry baby just because the demo didn't work. And stop acting suprised that EA produced borked code, they ALWAYS produce borked code". However, I didn't say that, I was trying to be reletivly objective.

have you tried logging in with your name and your bf2 password. Because if you by any chance did the vet program thing, for all intents and purposes, it should be the same. The reason your name is "in use" might be because you are using it.

At any rate i'm just tired of all the hate that people are throwing at 2142, I'm having more fun in 2142 than i ever did in any of the previous bf games.
