Some retailers have posted that the XBOX version will be out at the same time as the PC version; like Best Buy, Future Shop and some others. I hope those people find out fast or else they are going to be really pissed off.

Well, if any retailers said that, they're pretty idiotic, too. After all, Valve never said that the Xbox version would be out at the same time that the PC one. In fact, I am pretty sure that they stated that XBox version is still being worked on.

I agree. Half-Life 2, Far Cry, and Doom 3 will all look horrible on the Xbox. When you've played one of those games on a pc with an X800 or 6800 it will be impossible to go to the console versions.

Making an XBOX game is not very hard, if you already programmed the game for PC in directx. XBOX basically uses DirectX 8.... (and has the crappy vertex and pixel shader versions)

sooo, no nifty looking dx9 water for XBOX....

anyways, the only console system I would even try playing a fps on is ps2.. but that is because the dual shock controller is much better than the other systems

But people who play Half Life 2, Far Cry and Doom 3 on XBox won't have played it on a PC with uber graphics card.

And you know, the graphics aren't really all that bad, in fact, if PC game designers pushed our hardware as hard as the XBox has been, games would look a lot better.

A developer working on an XBox game looks at the limits of the system and squeezes every last drop of performance out of it to make the game look great. A different developer working on a PC game looks at an improvement they want to make and just decides to increase the minimum specs.
