[Edit]Oops... wrong spot... Can someone move it pls? thx. :D[/edit]

whats the setback on your wallet?

Yeah I don't mean a Pentium dual core, but a Core 2 Duo chip. They're the new line of cpus from Intel. Far, far, far, far, far superior to the pentium series. And no, they're not too expensive. The slowest Core2duo chip is about $170 and is at least as fast as your Pentium D 3.6.

2.36gb memory???? i wouldnt really recommend that kind of setup of ram. may not run at good speeds. your best off with either 1 2gig stick or 2 1gig sticks in dual channel.

First two thoughts:

Who the hell gets 2.36 gigs of memory?

Why didn't you get a Core 2 Duo, or even an Athlon64 X2?

Besides that, decent setup.

Because... I got one? :|

Unless there's a NEW new one... Then I guess cause I wasn't on a high enough budget...

Yeah Pentium != Core duo

New naming convention and shared cache between the cores.

That's what I got, 2 sticks, 1 gig each. My budget was whatever my parents decided (sense I'm 15) so I'm guessing it was about $2000

Btw, I'm not TOO sure of my processor, but I know the speeds right. :D

Speeds aren't necessarily everything, although 3.6 is pretty good for an Intel (since they basically are as good as their Ghz) which isn't the case for AMDs but that's a different story. Anyways I'm not so sure exactly how 2 1gb sticks give you 2.36gb of ram...should be closer to 2.048gb at max.

what kind of mouse pad did you get? I hope it wasnt one of those plastic ones, that would stink.

OMG Van Halen, Are you even sure you got a new rig or your dad wiped one clean for you and called it The New Rig Of The Decade?

2.35GB or RAM? Pentium D? 7600GT? $2000.00?
You better talk to yar dad and tell him to quit fooling around and get me freaking decent setup.
I think you just got the hand trick from your old man.

Meh... I should have said before I'm not 100% sure exactly what all the parts are called, or do, cause I'm just too excited to care. XD

Yeah, the 2 sticks together actually were 2.048... I was just excited. :D

The processor is actually 3.4 gig, and the "2.35GB or RAM? Pentium D? 7600GT? $2000.00? " the "2.36" was what I thought was the ram, it's actually 2.048, and the 7600GT is real, I have the box right here. (I bought it yesterday) All together it was about $2000 :)

So, most of it was legit, I ust farked those 2 up :(

$2000 for that? D:

2,048 with the memory means 2048MB's, which is 2 GB. Not 2.048 GB ;)

Oh my... $2000 for that? Look at the rig in my sig, I only spend $1400 on it. Core 2 Duo, 8800gts, 2gb of ddr800 ram, and a asus p5b deluxe.

Well thats just with the sticks, not the whole comp. (The motherboard adds some mem... right? :()

No. If you payed more than 800 for that rig you (or your dad) got ripped off bigtime.

damn....sorry to burst your bubble, but you just got ripped off HUGE if you payed $2000 for that. I spent $1000 a year ago and my comp is a lot better than that.....

alright guys give the guy a break ..he doesnt know how much it was ..$2000 was a guess, most likely it was about half of that and sure he could have picked better parts but it wasnt his decision.

Agreed. Sorry Van Halen for raining on yar parade boss.

This is the reason why i posted asking for suggestion before i hit the purchase button.

I couldn't agree more. Thank goodness someone else thought better than to jump in and spoil this lads fun. Is it that hard to be pleased for someone rather than exercise what you think is your right to burst someones bubble purely because you know more about computers than many a given individual ? Sorry to rant a little, but my automatic reaction to this kind of thread would be to say congrats, hope you enjoy your pc.

I find pessimism, cynicism, and sadism to be the only things I hate about the Internet.

Along with apathy. And lack of empathy. Shit, that's a lot of things! :p

I got a new rig too!

Your rig seems to be running a little hot, you sure applied thermal?

Well, I've red reviews for this specific model, and it says the fire is normal...But should I take it back to Wal-Mart and exchange for another one, just to be safe?

You might set Wal-Mart on fire if you walk through door with that thing, then again who cares I never liked Wal-Mart, take it back. Get a rig without the open flames. Smoke is fine as long you got two 250000mm fans. Whoosh!
