That also links to my next point which is....niether can the big cat Sometimes due to in-experience, or a simple mistake they grab the wrong point. Other animals also may get it wrong, or simply have "worse" ways of killing. Being poisoned for instance, or suffocated.

Depending on the type of bear, they can attack without reason. Grizzly bears attack whenever they feel like it...bitch(but I doubt it was a Grizzly...unless it escaped from the zoo or somthing), they will also attack for food, try to scare you away from the food so they can get to it but the hunter probably shot at the bear.
