I hate this year!

How do hardcore gamers find time for casual games on their consoles and MMOs on the PC at the same time?

It depends. If you're an indiscriminate money dispenser for corporations, you'll have troubles playing all the games. If you have standards, you'll have trouble finding a game to play.

I have become the first sadly.:( I'm sorry Mika!

You're so cool Mikael. I wish I was a smug elitist asshole like you.

Man, you crazy!

There's so many f*cking games coming out, and I don't have enough time for'em all!

Things aren't made better by the fact one of'em is an MMO but I don't feel like paying 15 USD a month for a game I might play maybe 10 hours a month max!

I know this is totally random but I had to get it out of my system!

Not to mention afford it!

I agree, I AM a hardcore gamer! used to play 5-8 hours a day, Now I do 3 hours a week.

I am trying to increase this number, but right now I can't... I have too much shit to cover in my life, such as family, work, sleep at 11:30pm everyday...etc

I miss those old days.

My solution is: play as much as I can during my Holiday. My next Holiday is on 10th of Nov. I m going to spend at least 6 hours a day on L4D2, tf2,.....etc....

Gargantou, its life. Adapt!

A shame "standards" is equal to "smug elitist assholery" nowadays.

Well you presented the situation as "You either have very high standards like me" or "You're a tool to corporations who laugh at you spending money on their mediocre shit". Your 'standards' didn't really have anything to do with it.

...

What's eating you, virus?

The number of games I buy per year has steadily decreased over time. Perhaps I'm becoming less of a gamer..but I still play video games -- they just happen to either be free indie games, or old games I've already bought.

Come to think of it, I did purchase Fallout 3 this year, but that was about it.

I'm thinking about getting GTA 4, but I'd probably become bored of it rather quickly.

Demon's Souls is all I need for the next month
But I have some older games I missed out on to play, too.

Did you people fail kindergarten or something? All I said was that if you're an indiscriminate buyer, you'll have trouble playing, but if you're picky about what you're play, you'll have problems finding a game.

Or do you call people preferring fancy restaurants to Burger Kings
smug, elitist assholes"?

Disclaimer: The above post does not imply that you used the expression "smug, elitist asshole" in regards to me. It is supposed to illustrate my point without getting into lengthy elaborations.

IMO the majority of the games I buy are good, not great but still good, it's very rare for me to buy a game which I think is average.

Most recent purchase was actually Theatre Of War 2 which is an excellent PC strategy game I might add.

Lately we bought Risen (Piranha Bytes' newest RPG, turned out to be awesome), Red Faction: Guerilla (finally a sequel to Red Faction that's worth a damn, plus, awesome gameplay, and I'm not referring to just the blowey-uppey parts), Batman: Arkham Asylum (a Batman game worth its weigh in gold? Sold.)... basically, games that don't have a recycled gameplay format (like CoD).

What the f*ck are you talking about? Risen has recycled gameplay formats.

Are you drunk, Mika?

I've owned Red Faction: Guerilla on mah 360 for a long time and yes, it's a great game, very fun both in SP and MP.:)

And I personally don't mind recycled gameplay formats as long as I enjoy playing the game itself and it has good production values.

But to each man his own.

At least I'm not one of the many extreme 360 achievementwhores who only buy games based off how easy the achievements are to get.
