Who else is getting tired of hearing people yelp those damn words in the thread title when they're disagreed with? I dunno when this trend started, or if I just didn't notice before, but it seems that instead of it being a basic right it's being used as a poor rebuttal when proved wrong, or worse, just an excuse for spewing utter shite. This ill-informed understanding of freedom removes all the point from healthy discussion. How can we ever make improvements if everyone thinks their right to an opinion makes them infallible?

I think it's more of a problem when people can't seem to define "opinion" clearly. It's people that present their own views as fact that piss me off.

In soviet Russia, right opinions you!
I know what you mean verne. *Always wanted to say that to jverne.* :>

Yeah, this is the internet(s). People have the right to say what they want, as long as the moderators don't disagree that is.

So the assumption here was that there would otherwise be rationally defined arguments in the first place? They've been extinct since '79.

Ok, I admit I have have said 'I am entitled to my own opinion' quite a few times but DAMMIT, ALL TIMES WERE IN LEGITIMATE USE!!

I have the right to your opinion!
[Also the right to protest!]

Pretty sure Pvt Ryan is aware of the incorrectness of that statement, and that's why he said it. It's relevant to the topic.

I could care less.

I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY THAT!

If you couldn't care less, that means you care about it.

You want to say I COULDN'T CARE LESS.

Edit: lol, someone else noticed too!

Maybe he actually meant it that way, though. Ever think of that? Maybe he's just so apathetic towards the issue that he can't even put the energy into not caring about it, that's how little he cares! So, he could care less if he really tried, he just doesn't care enough to.

Simple logic, people.

Don't give a shit.

Don't give a shit.

/oppinion
I couldn't give TWO shits.

/opinion

Oh yeah btw,

You may find this helpful, then:

caring.png

....we could've used this chart in an earlier thread, but I don't care anymore, or rather, "I couldn't care less". :p

I keep misreading the thread title as

"I have a right to an opinion - hic!"

But, you could give ONE?
Arrrgh! :p

Actually, by giving someone shit, and shit being the most useless substance on Earth, it's actually an insult meaning, "you really don't care", or another way of saying, "I couldn't care less". Follow me?

Wait, shit still has value to power companies focused on bio-energy. Dammit! I'm still wrong! :frown:

Well, here's another theory, by letting "s" represent shit, and "0" represent the "I don't care" factor, here's my "I couldn't give two shits!" represented by an equation:

s*2 = 0.

...?

.......?!?!

:frown:

Dammit! I've been wrong this whole time! "0" has no value and thus cannot be raised to any power! Arrrrgh!
