Probably just a problem in the code... somewhere, somehow; an admin flicked a switch which immediately lifted the restriction on the IMG tag. Realising his mistake, he promptly undid his hasty move and whistled a guilty tune as he walked away... Behind him, he hears a voice mutter "Wait... did I just see an IMG sig?".
