I have been chosen

You have chosen, or been chosen, to relocate to one of our finest remaining urban centers.
LOL

Can you take pictures and post them? I'd love to see wherever it is you're stationed at (but will completely understand if they will have none of that).

Your being a member of this forum that I believe we all respect, I hope you get placed somewhere where you get some forum access. It's always a pleasure to read your posts and it would be sad to lose that.
This yes. Carve out an NK soldier's skull and send it to me as a souvenir will ya?

They're always departing but they never arrive.. and the ones that do arrive, they never leave; you never see them go. They're always full, no one ever gets on, but they're...

God, I wish I have known you from earlier.

NUMBERS IT'S A TRAP THEY'RE USING YOU TO MAKE SOYLENT ICE CREAM

I don't know how SK military works, but just because you're in service doesn't mean your life stops. I'm pretty sure you'll have enough free time to play games and whatnot unless NK grows some balls suddenly.

Looking back on my decisions when I was around you age, I do wish I had done ROTC while in college and become an officer, rather than enlisting straight away. I guess part of the decision comes down to how much you value education, and whether you're willing to put it off.

Congratulations, in either case.

Good fortune Numbers. Serve your country well.

I hope it turns out to be a good experience for you, and you get the position you want.
Oh, and Lets hope Kim Jung-il doesn't get an Invasion-Fever infection in his short crazy head.

Have fun. Given your immense boner for all things Father State you should have a lot of fun and fulfillment being enslaved by your country's military.

Be safe.

What Ennui said. Even if you're crazy, you're still ours. Don't be disappearing.

Lol thanks guys. I'm going to delay my "enlistment" until at least next year, and even more so if I am able to go ROTC or some other kind of officer deal. Like translators or something.

If I do get to be an officer, then I won't have to go until I graduate, which would be very very fine for me. :D

Plus officers don't get shot very often, right? Right? :D?

Can you wave to and see Kim Bong Dong from where you will be?

how you do the "fake insanity"?

if the officer ask you a questiong you start biting his arm or something like that?
Nah, if you're too obvious they're gonna call it a bluff. I made out-of-place pauses in my sentences and smiled a little too much. Worked like a charm.

The thing with sweden though, is that you don't really have too if you don't want to go.
I mean they could make you, or you'd end up in jail, but they won't. There are enough people who want to go anyway.

Look on the bright side, now when you preach the pro-state propaganda we'll atleast understand why.

good luck buddy, I'm sure you'll do fine. And from what I hear women love men in uniform.

"Have you heard of a guy called Alex Jones?"

Every single person I know who's gone into the military became far worse people by the time they got out. They got rude, macho and coarse. I certainly hope that won't happen to you numbers.

Yes, to some extent I noticed the same. It's very strange, it seems the military is the anti-thesis of personal development.

In college I had some Korean friends, most of whom had already done their military stint and they were all cool guys... except for one... who was apparently part of some special forces group for some time and had the ability to kill just about anyone at his own discretion. Actually I don't know if he was cool, I just didn't talk to him because I didn't want to accidently offend him and die.

I have my mind set now. I will apply for ROTC next year, and if that fails, a scholarship officer, or translations. They say that being an officer is way better than a enlisted man, even if you're on the front. Of course it adds an extra year to your service, but then again, I've always wanted to know what it would be like to be an officer. (And I'd rather be able to play the next 2 installments of Starcraft 2)

Actually, I've had some experiences like that. Some people I knew that went and volunteered for the marines (who take only volunteers, afaik) became changed people after their service.

But I'm not too worried. You can't really change a person's basic personality, and if I'm not coarse, macho, and rude now, I'll prolly be the same after my service.

At least I hope so. :p

Heh yeah, those guys are actually very scary people. They take only volunteers, btw.

But I rather not be a Spec Ops guy or a Marine,
