Just picked up Fable 2, watching the amazing opening movie as I type. Nearly picked up Far Cry 2 at the same time but I decided to wait till I gets some birthday money.

Anyone else got the game yet?
 
edit: Oh Fable 2.
When it comes to the PC/PS3 it'll gain my interest.
 
I'll pick it up tonight if it's at my local PCWorld. :p

But they're pretty inefficient there, they're release dates are a week after the official one. ;)
 
I got the game on tuesday and my xbox broke on ****ing saturday. I've been waiting for this game for so long, I didn't think it was possible for a human being to be as angry as I was. Nearly pulled all my hair out. BTW I had just got my xbox back like 2 weeks ago.
 
I'm personally loving the guns. They feel the most satisfying at the moment so I'm raising their skill even though they do the least damage. Got a nice rusty pistol. I call it Trusty. Luckily, the magic seems less all-powerful than it was in the first game.
 
Braid still hasn't been released for the PC even though Kadayi promised me it would.
 
Have it, love it. I'm a pure ranged character and I can't stop going on killing sprees. I haven't even progressed much in the main story because I keep doing the random jobs and buying up properties. I'm having so much fun with it.
 
I simply couldn't play Fable due to the voice acting.
 
I rather like the voice acting.

But I'm an ignorant American, what do I know?
 
Do you need to play fable 1 to play 2 ok?
 
Forget Fable - Fable 2 is the game it should have been :)
 
I found a condom buried with a biography of Lucien. Awesome.
 
So far I'm really enjoying this game. They seem to have stuck to the Fable roots, it feels the same as its predecessor. I have to say that the thing that has surprised me most is how little the jobs bore me.
 
I married the same woman twice and unlocked 'The Bigamist' achievement. That strikes me as a glitch though....
 
I've not married anyone yet. Whenever I buy property (and I've bought a lot!) I can't bear to live in it. What a waste of potential income. I get about 1600 gold every 5 minutes.
 
I wish i'd invested more money in property instead of putting every penny towards gambling, guns and axes. I get 90 gold every five mins for my one tiny weapon stall and my money grabbing wife - who no longer puts out for some reason - takes 30 of that.
 
Played some of this yesterday as a mate brought it round, really couldn't enjoy it. Ah well, but maybe a rental in a few months as I would like to try and see the appeal.
 
Beat the main quest

Decided to choose Love because shit I felt really bad when lucien shot my dog D: What the **** man
 
I'm doing pretty well despite how early i am in the game. I own a number of shops and one or two properties, I've got a wife who's constantly giving me presents, and I've already acquired a legendary weapon from the Temple of Light
 
This game is really fun. Its like they took everything from the first one, and expanded it hundred fold (like the intro, same principle as the first - collect monies). I don't know about anyone else, but I felt really restricted in the first one - the fighting, the sheer linearity of it, but this one is just fantastic. I just had my first kid, though he is only a baby at the moment.

There are a few things that annoy me. The way that you choose which spell to use is completely useless in the middle of combat I find, so I end up just having slow time, electric, blades and raise dead on the vertical slots. Also, I found vortex and chaos are just completely useless.

But these are small things. Everything else is satisfying - the jokes, the cockney accents, the guns and spells - they all rock. I conclude by adding that I thought the intro was much funner than the one in the previous game: it draws you right in, and starts the story straight away.

On the main story I have just

done the crucible, finishing stuff up before going to the spire

EDIT: Oh, and I love the way your decisions actually make a difference to the world.

I had that problem. What I did was do some level 3 or 4 work (like the blacksmith or my favorite, bar tending) until you get a few thousand, buy a few small shops (or one big one). I own all of the small shops in bowerstone, oakfield and the gyspy camp, and a couple of the bigger ones, and I get several hundred gold every five minutes. Wife and kid both take up about 35 gold per day, so it easily pays.
 
I haven't dabbled with will at all besides rank 1 of inferno, and it's terribad (I actually untrained it). I think I'll roll a new hero and make it pure will-based (and evil) and experiment a lot with that. Right now I'm content in 1/2 shotting most everything with all my points in skill/ranged.
 
Once you start hitting the higher levels of will you get those cool magic lines going all over your body. It's pretty cool to see them creeping up out of my vest unto my face. Wish the game had a screenshot feature or something like that.

What time of day and how much did you have to donate for that legendary weapon?
 
Went halfers with a mate at the weekend on da fayballs. It's awesome so far.

Trying to put my character into more of a magic user backed up with a rifle. The combats harder earlier on, but when some of the better versions of spells become available it makes it soooo worthwhile.

Been married once as a consequence of my good natured quest finishing. Couldn't get her into bed so I shot her and I'm renting out the house. Evil deeds ftw.

I never thought the combat system would be so fun. And the guns feel so satisfying. There's a good mix of magic and personally I quite like the setup for it, even though alot of people really dislike it.

I'm currently focussing on my toughness and speed, which are now quite highly levelled compared to the rest of my abilities. I recently bought a master pistol at the Crucible, and by spending a minute charming the trader I got it a few thousand gold cheaper aswell :D

I'm currently focussing on investing in the larger stores (30,000) and renting out properties - which I then furnish with luxury items to increase the income I get from them. I've found this to be fairly effective.

I've also come across quite an annoying problem..
I married the woman who works at the furniture shop in Bowerstone Market to try and get furniture cheaper, however now she doesnt seem to be entering her shop and it doesnt give me the option to buy anything from her, which is fairly annoying.

Also, does anyone know where I can find the bookstore in Bowerstone, because I'd quite like to train my dog, but I cant seem to find it.
 
Got it, Completed it and basically waiting for my game to gain Gold while I play on the Computer.

Glitches are plentiful, god my friend can't even go to Brightwood or his game crashes.

Cool game though :D

Go to the center of the market and face the entrance to the town (ie the bridge). There is a row of 3 houses to your right: The potion shop, a house, and the bookstore on the right end
 
I married Stephen the Town-Crier in Bowerstone and moved into a little house in the back alleys of the city. All he did was bitch about how I never got him presents and never gave him any money. So I shot his head off. Literally clean off.

What I failed to realise was that one of my other lovers (Poppy the Housewife) was climbing the stairs at the time (probably trying to catch me with my husband), leading her to witness the crime. She made for the front door, screaming blue murder. Just as she was about to get to the door, I levelled my pistol at her and shot her in the head. I ran out of the house to check for any other witnesses, but luckily there was no one else there.

I went over to the house's deeds and put it up for rent. Not sure anyone will want to live there with two dead bodies in the house however. Ah well.

Love this game. :E
 
I felt like a pimp when I picked up a chick from the bar, bought a house, watched the previously sleeping occupants file out, kicked the last one in the ass on his way out, then take the chick upstairs.
 
That happened to me, and after completing a part (Not a specific part just the next quest) of the main quest they mysteriously re-appeared.
 
I just finished it (warning, super dooper mega spoilers):

Even though my character was good, I choose "Love" rather than sacrifice. Also, did anyone else think that the ending was extremely anti-climatic? How the **** did the magic box defeat Lucien? And how is Theresa (for those who don't remember, she was your sister in the first) still alive after 500 years? And is she the real villain? And how did you cheat death (again)?

This game is such a great laugh. I walked into a house in Oakfield and noticed that the female occupant had a large heart above her head. I used the "come back to my place" emote and she began to follow me. It was only then I realised the man shouting "OH NO YOU WON'T" was her husband. Still rattled her. :p

Will powers are starting to annoy me. I've upgraded inferno to level 2, but can't seem to select from spells I have during combat. Holding B charges up the most powerful ability (inferno) but if it's in the second slot you can't use it 'quickly' (direction+B).

Can't fathom it yet. :x
 
So are you having problems releasing the magic on time or what?

All I do is assign them to the slots, then when the spell I would like to cast is highlighted red I release the B button.

Also, does anyone know where I can get expert potions? I was doing the Crucible again and the guy in the trader room gave me an expert skill potion, which I used without checking its benefits, and the next moment I know I have 450,000 Skill exp, when before taking the potion I had less than 100,000.

Oh yeh, and making money on this game is way to easy. After buying a few big stores and properties i'm now bringing in over 6k in 5minutes. :dozey:
