I have problems with everything nowadays

Well, I bought myself a new power suplly, and I tried to connect everything, but here's my problem:
My motherboard cable is 10x2, but the input on my mobo is 12x2. I tried connecting it anyways and well it fits but there are two thingies left. Then, I attempted booting it and ofcourse, it failed. But there's a green light on my mobo, and that was lit up. I seriously don't know how I should retry connecting my things, and why there is a 6x2 cable and not an 8x2, so I'll just ask it here. How should I retry connecting my mobo and why is the cable 10x2 and not 12x2? MTIA, Boogymanx.

you have a 16pin motherboard???????? sure you didnt count it wrong? i only know of 20 and 24pin also most motherboard wont work unless you have all of the pins filled

Find a compatible PSU maybe...

That or find the wiring schematic for the mobo and PSU and simply move around the ground cables to the extra slot. Have fun!

You can get a 20 to 24 pin PSU adapter. However for a demanding rig (ie SLI) it is best to get a true 24 pin PSU.

It's not demanding at all, thing is though that I can't keep using my brothers pc and I really wanna play WoW in a few days. (I'm broke atm)

not all motherboards will do that espically DFI ones they are power hungry

If your powersupply has a 24pin connector and it's made up of 20pin and 4pin plugs you are fine. If it's one large 24pin connector then get an adapter or different unit.

I got it now, it was a 20pin and 4pin like Asus said, I just didn't know I had to slide the 4pin in the 20pin. Thanks for the help all.
