I have seen the light! and it's name is Killzone

I know it can be in game if they want it to be. I still believe its ingame.

Now there's denial for you.

ya I felt that way about my ability to fly ...thankfully someone had the hindsight to plant bushes below my bedroom window :rolling:

And just yesterday, everyone was talking about gameplay over graphics, well now you're all talking about OMG SHAKY CAM LOOK AT THOSE GRAPHICS SO BEAUTIFUL HOLY SHIT IT'S ALL I'VE EVER WANTED.

Hypocrite nerds.

mal-content graphics whore :E ...hey no one said graphics arent importent ...just that they're not the only important element

I think that Killzone has made me want a PS3 over a Xbox 360, although at the same time the new Elder Scrolls looks damn good.

Xbox 360 will ultimately win [ME] because of Gears of War+ Elder Scrolls IV which my PC will hardly run... ever...

And I refuse to believe they would make Killzone 2 exclusive for PS2 if it's a HUGE HIT, and I would play it on the PC...

Then you and I are on the same page.

ya but I think everyone in that thread was saying the same thing I was

For all the negativity, even if killzone doesn't end up looking like that, at least a good number of the final games will.
So, on some level anyone who buys a PS3 will get those graphics. Somehow.

As for looking forwards to killzone, the first one was an absolute pile. All the shiny in the world won't make it suddenly decide not to suck this time around. It's extremely rare to have a sequel with completely different gameplay, and even more rare for it to not blow. So either this is more of the same or worse, I guess.

killzone had alot probs alright but alot was down to the ps2, the ps2 sucks when it comes to fps, with the capabilities of the ps3 i expect it to be good(whether or not that trailer is real, i could give 2 s*its atm about it), it always looked very cool, the guns and helghast and stuff, i mean sony signed them up for something.

We still don't know if it's pre rendered or not. If everything else pales in comparison, doesn't that tell you something? Don't get me wrong, I shat my pants when I saw that trailer, but im not getting my hopes up too high.
We'll see soon enough if the technology can really deliver. Although those ps3 tech demos with doc octopus and the unreal 3 engine were amazing, all in real-time. Oh and who can forget the Fight Night demo, that was Incredible. But the Killzone trailer looks almost TOO good to be true.

They were saying very similar things, but got so riled up in all of their pimply little angst filled minds, they forgot that I care about gameplay too - which I stated many times.

The whole reason I made the post is being I had ENOUGH of people saying that graphics had no bearing on whether or not it's a good game. Then they bitch at me and call me a graphics whore because I care about graphics as much as gameplay in these new games.

but ...good graphics dont make a game good ...we went through all this before

You guys are all blowing my high, saying that games like that aren't going to be possible with the next generation. Just picture in your head the jump in graphics and game play by look at all the nintendos.

Nintendo 1983 > Super Nintendo 1991 > Nintendo 64 1996 > Gamecube 2001

So if you concentrate on the 3d part of it in the 5 years between 64 and gamecube the leap is huge. 2006 is again 5 years so once again the leap will be huge.

We went from this

http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpagesscreens/197860.asp?screenid=4

to this

http://www.gameplanet.co.nz/mag.dyn/Features/Pictures/1995,2.html

so I don't see why another huge leap isn't possible.

Leave that decision to us, please.. :)

He only said he expected it to be closed, not it would be closed. :)

* Samon runs

But yeah, looks awesome.

The video looked great, but it was said it was pre rendered.

I refuse to believe anything sony says until I see actual the actual system with an actual game in it and an actual person actually playing the game. This is like the ps2 all over again, so much hype. However the games that were running in real-time (Unreal and Fight Night ) looked great, and are what I expect next gen games to look like.

thx but the thread was generally interesting before the fanboys arguments started and the same views we already know from the other kz2 threads were posted again.

yes thank you I was waiting for someone to say that

I agree Stern it looks great I really am getting a console.....^^

This needs more criticism.

The grenade explosions look terrible, animations are pretty bad in some parts too (but I am sure that will be worked out). The drop ship vehicles was pretty crappy looking (uber high-tech troop transport...except the part that transported the troops) and the dialogue was corny. I don't think I am going to get a PS3, but I am certainly going to find a friend who does.

Yeah and what were they thinking having people in it? Totally unoriginal. I mean come on, Reptillian Ninja's are the way to go these days, everyone knows that.

Although on a serious note, its a shame that was pre-rendered as now i'm not as impressed with the video as i was earlier. Still a heck of an awesome video though, probably the best trailer i've ever seen. It would've been nice to see what it really runs like on it at the moment. Because Gears of War ran pretty good on the Xbox360 and that was not pre-rendered

This game looks amazing. I'm really starting to think about getting PS3.

I don't really care about the video, even if the game actually WILL look like that, the first one was 'meh' average. And yes, I do know it is prerendered.

So far I'm leaning towards the PS3, simply because most of the 360s games are PC ports. And even the ones that aren't are just trying to bring genres to the consoles that are, and will always be superior on the PC. Then there's the revolution, which I;m neutral about. No footage, but what they said about it's online capabilities seems pretty awesome.
