This waiting is starting to make me mad. I mean, VALVe has to announce something very soon or else alot people are gonna be unhappy. They have not said anything about the guy at ATI that said they interviewed VALVe some weeks ago and said that it is gonna go GOLD this week, right? They are just completely quiet. What are they waiting for? :hmph: I hope that they understand that people are going mad because of all this... What's up over there anyway?? Have they all been assimilated by some evil DOOM3 organisation?:borg:That is quite an unlikely thought but still... I know stuff like this has been posted before but it is going to be said again and again and again. An official press-release has to draw near, or else people will go genoicidal... So please someone, take us out of the dark... ;(

I mean, somebody has to know anything useful...

Thats not being mean, i dont have a problem with you, but by posting here your making it worse for youself by whipping up the excitement and anger.
2. Dont look at the news
VALVe can announce all they want, but thers only going to be one development thats really important, HL2 being released.
3. Preorder and forget
Just go away, try and forgey HL2 even exists. Every time you think about it try thinking about something else. And then before you know it youll get the call saying theyve got your game or the package will come though your letterbox.

So, just go and do other things and forget about HL2. If its really causing you pain its the best thing to do.

i've never completed the game on hard . i always played till i meet the grunts then i got stuck ;( i suck so hard ;( ;( ;(
 
I've never finished it on hard, I always quit at the final boss. It's so boring. Or usually I stop when you go to Xen. That's when all the fun ends. Surface Tension kicks ass
 
Yeah its getting quite madding now. I mean a year ago it was the same thing.

the thing that really pisses me off is they way ID Software and Valve have gone about things.

ID work on doom3 for 4 years and never realise a single screenshot, suddenly with out too much hype boom, it goes gold and its realised. My question why cant Valve just do that?

:angry: Im sick of the bullshit, hype and crap being printed about HL2. We all know this is the biggest game realise ever and it will be out of this world good. So quit the hype and just realise it.

On the good side of things the fact that HL2 is pre-loaded on steam is a very,very,very,very good sign. I just hope there are no more delays and no more bullshit.

it doesnt matter if it comes out later this year because people will still buy the game if theyre angry

usually i find the best is nowadays to forget hl2 is go to a bar meet a few girls bring them back to your house. have sex with the 3 out of 5 girls you pick up the other two become ur life long friends... if you have a job start looking for another one cause that usually kills time.
play other games
go back to the bar and pick up more chicks..

yes some of you can't talked to girls cause uz getz scared. some of you are mack daddies..

Then go and make a backup set of your entire C: drive, all on 3,5" diskettes.... then restore.

Try to do this :rolling: with your eyes. I guarantee you, by the time HL2 is released, you'll finally be able to do it.
 
It's probably never going to get relesed, it looks to good to be true and they'll probably tell us that it's all in our minds. :rolling:

Hmm. Yet another one of these threads. I don't see the point in getting angry over this and comments saying people won't care and won't buy the game are stupid empty threats. At the end of the day, whether you've waited with baited breath day after day since May 2003 or you walk into a games shop on day of release not knowing the game was coming out, you're still gonna buy the game because it will be so damn good.

Be patient. Distract yourself. Just don't have a go at Valve for giving you this game. They owe you nothing.
 
Have you ever played any HL1 singleplayer mod out there? There are tons of excellent products, and many of them can give you the same feeling as HL: They Hunger, USS Darkstar, Todesangst, Rebellion, E.T.C., Azure Sheep... Some of the very best still have to come; the Nightwatch guys are doing a kickass job.
 
Actully I found a nice way to pass the waithing time, and to cheer myself up after the fake gold msg. - and its even free !

It might not be for everybody, but if you can answer yes to these questions, I think it will cheer you up:

Did you ever play online games?

Did you ever encounter imature players with a rotten atitude and a foul mouth, ruining the fun for everybody else ?

Can you admit to having atleast a tiny bit of a mean streak in your character ?

No NO, they are here to cry their little eyes out, and tell traumatic tales of injustice, adventures of amazing coincidences, ghastly cases of mistaken identities, all leaving them, the poor victim with account and cd.keys banned for one to five years :)

just let it happen, man, going mad isn't nearly as bad as its made out to be. once the process is complete you'll feel so much better, you'll probably wonder why you didn't try it long ago... but since in your case this process could take a very long time, and there's no telling how many more useless nonsensical posts you're likely to make in the meantime, i'm going to have to go along with the guy who said: just end it all - put the miserable wait to an end :p
