Bellsouth dsl extreme.. although its a kinda lame name, i do get extreme speeds. I DL usually at 350 kb/s for 45$ a month. Is anyone else getting a deal as good as this?

Nice

I'm getting 1mb speeds but only paying for a 512k connection, had it for about 8 months now and my isp seems not to hav notcied

$40 for

4 Mbps downloads (500 KB/second) and 512 Kbps upload (roughly 40 KB/second).

I love cox cable. :) I also love living in a really large metropolitian city so they do the free upgrades here first.

Hahaha thats funny you saying that considering the fact that your location states "In a Desert"

i pay about $45 for SBC DSL(southwest bell) and i get like 650k/s download rates up to 64k/s upload rates. not sure what the actual megabits are in the plan.

Very hard to say this but I love comcast. I get 430/30 speeds which is pretty good. Coolest thing is IT HAS NEVER GONE DOWN IN OVER 3 YEARS!!! Yep thats right, I haven't had a single downtime at all with Comcast in over 3 years.

I live in New Zealand where broadband is very expensive. I'm paying roughly $75 a month for 128kb/s ADSL (about 16k down).

doh thats outrageous man, when i first moved, there was a special deal, $29.99 a month for pretty much the same speed 128kb/s/16kb/s. there are some sweet deals on dsl and cable in california

I don't know what I have or how much it costs, but I have Road Runner's cable, so I assume it's fast.

Im on DSL and I live about 100 feet away from the station. Sometimes I will get as high as 11mb/s then other times I will only be getting 150KB/s

I should be getting 2.5 downstream 640 KB/s upstream.

When I download off fileplanet I am only getting 150 KB most the time.

There is a big difference between 2.5 and 150 KB. :flame:

Edit: I just tested mine and it says im getting. 1236 down and 516 up which is still way off from what it should be.

Loaded 1349385 bytes in 4.156 seconds.
Your throughput is 2597 kilobits per second.

$45 a month for 3.0Mbit/384Kbit.

Yeah, Comcast cable is somewhere from $40-$50 a month and my internet is insanely fast, I also download at 500kbps maybe even a little more I'm not exactly sure, though a lot of the time my downloads are more at 400kbps because of slower servers. I have no idea what my upload is but I do know that I never lag in games, my connection is awesome. When I download from gamedaily.com, it tells me my download is going at 1mbps, sometimes it even my hit 2mbps, and it's only on that server that it happens. And the downloads do seem fast, it's great.

:hmph: I got Earthlink DSL. I get 2.5 Mbps down and was it 256 or 512 Kbps up? I forget.

Hay guys, I get 170KB/s dl and like 60KB/s upload.

I'm truely living in the future.

Right now we (Me and my father) have a 1.5 MBit, which has resulted in a 400+ KB/s download from Steam, downloading CS among others :).

We're thinking of upgrading to 10 MBit (Which will be both up and down), which will rock hard. We don't have it currently though.

How do you find out what download/upload you have? I want to know.

That's actually pretty decent for DSL. It's about 2.7mb down. I've got Verizon DSL in Boston, MA. Speeds are 1.5mb down/384 up (184kbps D/L rate) for $30 per month. Usually connection speeds (for DSL anyway) greatly depend on the phone lines in your town and how close you are to the node/station.
