Okay I have to bump this... the guy in the original video... Bobby Berosini... he physically abused his orangutans.

However, his career was derailed in 1989 after a Stardust dancer secretly videotaped Berosini grabbing, slapping, punching and shaking his orangutans before going on stage with them.[1] The dancer, Ottavio Gesmundo, sent the tapes to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, and the resulting outcry forced the Stardust to cancel Berosini's act. Although he later moved his act to Branson, Missouri; he has only made sporadic appearances in Las Vegas since then. The United States Fish and Wildlife Service later canceled Berosini's wildlife permit.

And I also read that the orangutan used in Clint Eastwood's Every Which Way But Loose also died shortly after the making of the film... regularly beaten by an assistant with a cane and ax handle.

Haha... Fantastic! I know Orangutans can be very mischievous. They are especially adept at picking locks in several cases of orangutans at zoos escaping by hiding tools to use to pick the locks on their cages.
