You gotta be kidding me?

I bought this game yesterday. It`s supposed to be the first NONE-Beta release, but I miss everything compared to CZ and CS 1.6.

Where are the player models? There is 1 each team. There is very few maps. I miss plenty of my favorite maps, like de_stadium.

No support for bots .. many bugs..

very few map cause valve just wanted to shove this in VU's faces and bugs ..well yes LOTS.. but you should of played the beggining of the CSS: beta wow

that was unplayable its getting better,,, but i still am flabbergated by the fact that Valve has the source engine and the turned the physics off on big items such as . dreesers, tables, barrle, crates and such . ARGHH

-I'd like to move the tables in front of doors like shown in the movies (will probably come once everything works perfectly)
-More models for t's and ct's (will come 100% sure)
-More maps (will come 100% sure)

That's the only critic I have.

And I would really like a map with a big blue drivable bus with S.W.A.T. written on it for the ct's.

They will be released soon! They did it with CZ, they will do it with CS:S, stop bitching.

Well, didnt Valve send a copy of CSS to Vivendi for beta testing? And Vivendi actully allowed them to release buggy shit like this? If Half-Life 2 looks pretty much the same they WONT release it!

Actually barrels are physically simulated! :O

Anyhow it's Counter-Strike, not a havok tech demo. There's no point in having everything simulated.

hey ^Thomas^ - how come you were looking for the CS:Source crack yesterday?

Are you sure that you bought it?

You know, one day we're gonna look back and say to the n00b who says "CS:S 1.6 owns all!" that he is wrong and things were all so much better in the time of first days of CS:S, we'll say "sure we had bugs back then, but it was a lot better than this lasergun crap of today's CS:S. Trust us, we were in from the beginning."

Well, Well, Well...

Haha Pi Mu Rho. Very direct there.

Anyway, as... #2 (I think) said, it's to show the world that HL2 is ready for release, and that forces Vivendi to get the gold out quicker - Because otherwise they could be harrassed for making it all take longer than it's meant to.

the cs:source release was probably rushed forward to make more people buy hl2 over steam, so i'm sure things will come later on.

I bet no one here was around for as long as I was in the CS dept.

Beta 1 biatches.

Cliffe and I used to talk once in a great while and he remembers my shit-tastic skins.... ahhh the GOOD old days.

Some of you act like, you expect a Port to be as good as... any game on its first release. I mean seriously, if you don't like it don't play it. You don't have to.
But Cs:S will get updated more and more... Just hold your asses

I remember the days when threads like this used to get deleted. So many of these hate threads are popping up... Gee, I can't wait for HL2 to come out so everybody will make a thread saying "Oh Em Gee!!!111 There is a shadow glitch with that beer can anddd a headcrab... LOLZ!1"

I hate haters. :D

Lack of player models / Not enough maps to satisfy you = Not buggy. It's just lacking content (which will be released in a major coming update supposedly)

I can see people being angry over CS:S, I really can. I myself am not the biggest fan of Counter-Strike by any means, but I do enjoy it. When I heard Valve would be unlocking CS:S for those who pre-order Half-Life 2, as in, for those who pay at least $49.99, I expected the FULL, FINISHED game to be provided to us. Not an extended beta test. This absolute bullshit about how we are being done a favor by Valve, or how we're being whiny/should have known it was only a beta/are forgetting about Steam updates, is just the ravings of blind fans. First of all, Valve isn't doing us a favor in any way. We pay them money, they give us a product. That's business. Second, just because this was sold through Steam and can be updated doesn't mean they can just throw us whatever half-baked product they'd like with promise of updates later on to fix it. Ask yourself this; is the version of CS:S we have today something you'd expect to get from the retail edition? The answer is obviously no.

I'm sorry that's bullshit. We paid for SP and MP. No where on any Valve literature does it say "Pay for HL2 and we'll include CS:S for free." No where. They are a package that is being sold as such. Maybe you should know what you're talking about before posting.

You paid for SP and MP but HL2 isnt released yet.

What the hell does that mean? If anything it reinforces my point - we've paid money and the only thing we've gotten is CS:S. Ergo, it was not free.

Gosson has already said it, but I'll just say it one more time. CS:S was not by any means a freebie being given to us because of Valves kind nature, and good heart. It is the multiplayer component of HL2, and something people have paid good money for. Valve rushed it so that people would buy it over Steam rather than wait for retail, thereby making more in terms of profit, and practiaclly forcing Vivendi to hurry the hell up. Now there is nothing at all wrong with that, it's just when I pay good money for something, I expect it to meet certain standards.

he said, "which will be released in a major upcoming update"

implying that he knew something.,

so I asked what he was talking about you pompous piece of arrogant shit.

stfuplskthnx.
Im really finding it hard to tolerate ass****ers on here lately.

CS:S is hl2's only mp component, I paid for it, I paid 60 bucks for it, so please refrain from spewing your bullshit in the future.

I played almost entirely on LAN games because I had a connection that was barely faster than 14.4Kbps... and I went by a different name... but I still played. Actually, up until a few months ago I still had a copy of the original public version of CS on my computer.

... but what relevance does that have to the topic?

de_stadium is one of the crappiest maps I've ever played. How could you like it?

All the new maps VALVe put out in CZ were tiny, cramped and boring.

[/rant]

Am I the only one who doesn't give a flying fart, and actually likes the game? STFU and play. STFU and play. STFU and Play, ok? More maps will come out, more models, more. You paid around 70 dollars for what... 8 or 9 games? More or less, that is a good deal. Ecspecially since you got a new game plus a few old ones. I would be happy with the game if no updates came out, it's a fun game.

STFU and play. :dork:

Thomas...i hate you. I really do. Why you havent been permanently banned yet i have no idea. I'm waiting for one out of your 220 posts to have something intelligent in it. Please stop posting, and breathing the same air as me.

Very good post. I like the new maps, I think they were done very well, but this is not enough extra stuff for a real multiplayer. Sure ive seen worse multiplayer than this...a lot worse, but we have high expectations when it comes to valve. There is absolutely no guarantee that valve will patch up this game and add more stuff, we can only trust that they do and remember that valve has kept their promise in the past with older mods they owned. Only time will tell for cs:s and hl2. If they rip everyone off, they will be totally screwed.

It's been stated by Valve staff on the steampowered forums that more stuff is going to be added in patches.

Boohoo. CSS isn't perfect. I'll just bitch about it on the forums until they update it again, I'll play it, find another problem, and then bitch about it on the forums. And I'll do this in a neverending cycle, because Valve doesn't work hard enough. *kills self*

Indeed, but its not like we signed a contract with them, forcing them to do it. I honestly trust their word, but its no more than a promise.
