i'm looking for a specific music style.

is there any soft, melodic metal or rock out there. not in a sense like Gothic or power metal, but more calm, melodic ballads or fantasies. you can cal me emo if makes your internet penis bigger. ;) but i'm not looking for crap stuff like HIM or alike.

few examples:

Zack wylde (in this river) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdN7518Br4Y&mode=related&search=
but his other songs are total crap.

Scorpions- send me an angel or wind of change

i tried night wish but that is a bit to guitar grinding and not to much melodic quality.

so, know any songs or bands who have this type of music?

thank you

The only way I can point you in the direction of with the terms soft, melodic, metal/guitar stuff would be alot of post-metal, most notably:

Red Sparowes - At the Soundless Dawn
Isis - In The Absence of Truth
Pelican - The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw

Very nice, calm, melodic and downright beautiful music. Nothing like Zakk Wylde, but like I said, that's all very guitar based, soft, melodic stuff, for the most part. Most instrumental, Isis use vocals and theres a bit with Pelican.

thanks for the info.

i searched for some samples. they are not bad i like more instrumental music, but it's not exactly what i pictured. maybe it's a little to trans, maybe to much drums.

Isis doesn't do ballads... it's more ambient, drawn-out, proggy, highly instrumental sludge metal.

Yeah, I know, but when he said soft, melodic, guitar based and somewhat metal stuff, In The Absence of Truth sprung to mind and I think it fits that description somewhat.

hehe, thanks guys. i'll look around for the song mentioned.

yes sometimes i have weird music taste, but i'm in an emo mood right now. :)
