Here is the problem: GilChem2003 4.P.112.] A reaction vessel contains 13.0 g of CO and 14.1 g of O2. How many grams of CO2 could be produced according to the following reaction?
2 CO + O2 2 CO2
:cheers:

Simple math and some use of atomic masses.
C=12g/mol
O=16g/mol
CO=28g/mol
O2=32g/mol
CO2=44g/mol
These are from your periodic table. Carbon and Oxygen you should know off the top of your head

so you have 13/28 moles of CO and 14.1/32 moles of O2

Without doing any math you can see that CO is your limiting reagent because you have roughly equal number of particles but you need twice as much CO for your reaction. So toss out the 14.1g, it's useless now.

you have 13/28 moles of CO, and you should end up with the same number of moles of CO2 to balance the equation. So multiply 13/28 by 44 and you get something around 20.4g of CO2
