Alright so I have installed on my computer
HL2: episode one which came with HL2: deathmatch.

I recently bought Counter Strike source which also came with HL2: death match..

I want to install Counter Strike source on the computer that already has HL2 deathmatch on it..

My question::::

Can I install the other Half Life 2: Deathmatch on a different computer in my house? and if so would I need to uninstall everything off of this computer first and make a new steam account?

thanks so much for any help.

well, you can always install on a different computer, you just cant always use it at the same time. Do you want to be able to lan? You will need another steam account to do that. I'm not sure if it will work, you could try it and let us know :)

did CS:S and HL2:DM come on two different CDs(or did you purchase thru steam?) and did they come with different CD-keys...if they only came with one CD-key(authentication code or whatever) I don't think you'll be able to split them up like that...send Valve and e-mail they probably know better than any of us.

they are both retail and bought at seperate times. ..

You can. If you register each product you have onto different steam accounts you can play HL2: DM on two different computers, online, at the same time. If you install both packages you bought on one steam account, obviously theres only 1 HL2: DM to play per account- so it wouldn't work. So register each product with a different steam account, if you want to play both online at the same time.

edit- remember you can log in with either account at each location. So you could still play Episode 1 & CS:S on the same computer, but you'd need to log-out of steam and sign in again with the other account. Do you understand that?

yup I got it all done two different accounts and all! :frog: and man I forgot how long it takes to install stuff on steam.. it was like an hour before day of defeat was done updating.

I would also like to point out that you can LAN with one Steam account and one copy of HL2 DM. I doubt it would work with more than 2 players though.
