I purchased, yet AGAIN, Starcraft/Brood War.

I still have my original 1998 starcraft v1.0 disc and my original brood war but i have multiple copies anyway because I've lost and found them many times

I've moved enough, they probably got lost here and there. I found my original Diablo disk at my mothers house this past time I visited. I lost that thing damn near 1998.
 
PS, Ennui, you really need to get back into the game, so we can get a fun little HL2.net thing going.

And the bug that angers me most is when you try to play SC with a person on the same LAN....the game LAGS LIKE NONE OTHER. It's not like there isn't enough bandwidth...I just don't know what's up. Anybody have a fix for this?

Sorry for the WAY lengthy reply, but no, unfortunately. You could try smacking the keyboard and hope for a valid key, but without purchasing the game *I got it for $20...* you won't be able to play on bnet.
 
Myself, Sliver, Taviow, and Pitz played a few games tonight. One FFA, one as a team against 3 AI opponents, and one 3 vs Pitz. It was a lot of fun :D
 
I'd love to play but I lost my cd-key. :( I've still got my CD from '98 though.....

I woulda won to, if it wasn't for those medaling kids and their dog.

Was such great fun. I wholly recommend more people join us.
 
I'm hoping we can start getting enough people so we can stop playing against the computer, though they are OK to learn the basics, they don't use any real 'human' strategy. Nothing trumps the human mind in this game.
 
I'm up for playing over the weekend, say 2 or 3 pm EST?

Shit, we may be on it most of the time. You should be able to jump no USEast and /msg CyberPitz and get me. If not, I'll be on Steam Friends. Though, while in SC, my Steam Community doesn't really work right.

Me either, it's weird. Probably has something to do with the Shift-Tab shortcut.

There are a lot of games that don't work properly with the Steam Community. I'm guessing it's just the older games engines or something, I don't know. I just blame the old stuff :p
 
I actually could play tonight too, reinstalling as we speak.
Just a heads up, I rarely ever played online.

Just played SP and skirmish(with cheats. D: )

As long as you know how to play and some general strategies and what unit counters another well, you'll do JUST fine.

And I was bored after everybody left, so I played Lost Temple with 3 other CPU's. The game ensued hilarity.
 
I'm in, hopefully with more sucess than the last time I tried SC with HL2.net members. An Australian, Englishman and American logon to Battle.net...
 
I have got to get in on this... unfortunately I have eight pages of Russian History paper to write tonight though.

In my case Blizzard makes dissapearing cd-keys and cases.

Oh and once my brother sat on my diablo 2 play disk, and broke it in half.

Brood War doesn't have a CD key.

Use your "Brood War cd key" then, because Stig is right. Brood War has no cd key. I think you have the original game cd key there.

You're serious? I remember it was the battle chest edition my brother got a while ago. If thats my SC cd key then I'm reinstalling that sucker right now!

Edit: crap... nm. I found the brood wars disk and you're right, it doesn't have a cd key. Lameness.
 
Come on guys, we need more players! 3 just isn't enough. If you're not good enough, don't worry, sliver and tav sucked before they played :p

Nevermind. But I do have my Warcraft 3 keys! :D
I might go pick up the battlechest tomorrow.. really cheap.
