Im looking to get into airsoft. Any pointers?

If you've got the money get a Marui. They're very reliable, and relatively cheap compared to the full blown full metal guns.

Or if you are low on budget you could get a gun from Well or UTG.

That's just non-pistol though, I am not into pistols at all so I can't make any recommendations.

Azner: There sure are a lot of M4 variants out there. The best gun for you is based on what's important... M4 type guns have a longer barrel and thus more accuracy. If you plan on playing in big open places, an M4 is probably the best idea.

Tokyo Marui makes both of them, but if you want a metal gun for extra money go with Classic Army. The new B&T MP5's they have are great.
 
I've a decent pellet gun, but it's a pretty plain looking rifle. It'll put a pellet through 1/2" of plywood, and knock pine cones out of trees. In the fall, I might spend a free afternoon exploding ripe buckeyes out of the trees in the backyard but otherwise it sits in the closet.

Compact is better than Elite. Elite's too big for my taste.

newb, the compact isn't better then the elite.
the elite is supperior in every way except size

MP5. If you really want an M16 variant get a big one (A1/A2/A3/A4) or a small one (CAR-15/XM177/M733). M4s are in the middle and just urgh.
 
Does anyone know a place that sells alot of deacts, replicas or non-functionala model guns? I'd really like to get some for display, but alas, softairguns cost alot because they're supposed to be functional, with motors etc.. Although I think you might scratch deacts, I tried importing a AK-74 deact earlier this year, but it's not allowed here in Sweden.:(
Maybe I should go to Finland where it's a 100% legal then 'smuggle' it over the border : )
 
How much did it cost? I'm not sure, it was a present off me significant other :E

Eww. The P99 is a very pretty gun- why'd you have to go all tacticool on it? :/
 
Airsoft guns are reletively restricted over here in Australia. But I was wondering if anyone knows what the laws regarding them are exactly... As far as I'm aware you have to be 18 and have a license, is that right?
 
Well over here, You only have to be.. 16 or 18, you only need a licence with REAL guns I am pretty sure. I mean, My grandma jsut bought me a 200$ pellet gun (See pic on page 4, nighthawk.) and it was just Exchange of money and gun.

I will look up Austrailian laws on teh internets.

In Canada you need to be 18 to buy one, but the cops don't give a damn if they see a 6 year old kid shooting one (they care if the kid is shooting at people, though)...
