I rage, you rage, we rage ey!

The graphical style is amazing, but what do you do in this game?

Looks strange, this is the new game from id that's supposed to be the FPS driving hybrid right?

Well, at least it looks better than Doom 3/Quake 4.

and on that note
Though powered by the same id Tech 5 technology as id's open-world shooter Rage, Doom 4 will be so detailed that it appears to run on "a totally new game engine," according to id co-founder and software engineer John Carmack.

The jump in graphical fidelity comes about as Doom 4 is targeted to run at 30 frames per second, whereas Rage will run at 60 frames per second. Carmack claims this allows id to throw "three times as much horsepower" at Doom 4

"Reports indicate that id is developing Rage with a T-for-Teen rating in mind"

:(

Quick someone Photoshop Rage screenshots to show what they look like and how they should look like :p

I just got a new computer and now i'm already worried if it can handle it. Think 9600GT SLi will do? :p

It indeed looks Falloutish and has more colours than what we've seen in Fallout 3, while still maintaining a post-apocalyptic feel, which is a good thing.

Fallout has a weird 50s vibe running through it because of the fallout back story, this is more akin to Mad Max 2 & 3 in look. Personally I'm interested to see where iD are going with this. It looks pretty impressive, but is it a straight up FPS, or is it going to be more of an action RPG? Personally I'm hoping for the latter, and I'm also hoping it's not going to require a machine upgrade to play.

This is another one of those games i simply cannot wait for. Im 100% sure im going to love this.

I read the thread title as "I rape, you rape, we rape ey!" D:

Love the style, love the idea, love the graphics, but I do see lots of room for improvement, as cool as it looks so far.

great trailer, now get back to working on the game!

<3 iD

A Teen rating is a little disappointing, but that's not so bad for the PC version. There will be mods to change that. Many people didn't like the gibs and stuff anyway. It will be cool as long as there is blood at least when appropriate.

iD needs to sell more games this time. I'll take a guess and say that half of gamers are old enough to play a Mature game. They need to sell to more than half of gamers. Most of the older gamers don't buy as many games and are harsh critics on top of that.

Whats so special about this to make everyone flip out about it? The environments look nice, but the characters are very unoriginal. Has there been any videos or discussion of gameplay? I get the feeling its going to be rather bland, or maybe like Assassins Creed where the gameplay was fun, but repeated to the point where youre uninterested in playing half way through. Plus all this comparison to Fallout 3 and Doom games just make it sound even more mediocre.

It's a brand new IP from iD, so that's pretty interesting, considering they are really only known for Doom and Quake.

I'm just interested in the game. Being that I love FPS and RPG's as my two favorite genre, I like that they are going with some kind of RPG hybrid. It's like all those stupid polls game companies have where you pick your two favorite genre's actually amounted to something.

Love the style of the game, and I love the characters for the most part. The graphics are great of course. I also love the fact that the planet has an atmosphere, and that leaves the world more able. Including gas powered vehicles that seem like fun and break up the action of the game to keep your interest.

The 'featured' grey monster doesn't interest me very much at all though, in fact I think they should replace it completely, but the dudes with the cloth over their face and the goggles, and the lady in the canteen/bar - I dunno, I just like the style. Reminds me of the best of 70's and 80's sci-fi, and that's the kind I like.

Reminds me of Star Wars, Blade Runner, and Mad Max.

The animations in the game look great. Everyone moves really naturally and it brings the scenes in the trailer together perfectly.

I'm not exactly flipping out about it, but it does look like a pretty good game.
I watched some 1up interviews with John Carmack and Matt Hooper. Matt was pretty open about the vehicular side of the game, and hinted at multiplayer co-op - two things I'm very interested in.
Part of the reason I think this is getting a gamergasms lately is because of the fact that iD software is a good game company, and also this is a completely different turn for them. Overall I think this is a different (and good) direction for them to go in.
