With my scrollwheel. Some time they're going to put "This company now owns all personal assets you have" and millions of people will get screwed over.

Heh, I actually had to think for a second about what they were. Shows how much attention I pay to them.

*Microsoft.

Scrollwheel fo sho. I wouldn't read them at all except most EULAs nowadays require you to scroll to the bottom before the 'Next' button becomes clickable... teh gay!

what the hell are eulas?

The things that you have to agree to when installing a program. It basicaly says what you can and cant do with the program, and what they will do to you if you break the rules.

P.S. I never read EULAs i just scroll through em if required, otherwise i just click agree.

On a Hypnosis forum I go to, where everyones like 60.

I said I didnt read it, does anyone? And they were like well its your own fault, and started abusing me for it. Does anyone actually read them?

I flick the scroll wheel to skip through it faster, they deliberatly make it long and boring to catch you out.

Screw reading them, but I'm going to be screwed over some day.

I honestly can't wait till someone does the whole "We own all your assets and you" thing; should be quite funny to see that in court.

Just hit next. In the few cases where it requires me to "read" i simply move the scroll bar to the bottom and then continue as normal.

Here's a poser: Are EULA's valid if you pirate the game?

"Please guv'nah, they can't nick me on technicalities because I stole the game. Oh wai"

^ Hehe, yeah.

"That doesn't count because I downloa... um... wait."

Sometimes I read through them :o or at least skim through to see what kinds of stuff they say. But between "I read them with my lawyer" and "with the scrollwheel" there was no "yeah, sometimes I kinda read them" choice. :|

you know, i don't think that EULAs should be legal.. you're agreeing to something you don't get to see. (I would like to copy and paste it, make a few changes, print it out, then when I'm sued, give that to the judge...lol) OR... show pictures that are timestamped showing when I opened the box, put the CD/DVD in my drive, installed, and pressed "i agree" and maintain that it did NOT let me read it before I "signed" it by unwrapping the plastic on the box.

If I were smart, I'd read a few lines of the eulas; but I am not smart, therefore I do not read a few lines of the eulas.

I don't understand why devs and publishers don't put the EULA's on the site of teh game, so you can actually read them before you buy the product.
The fact that you only get top see the EULA after you have allready bought the product makes it illegal in a lot of countries, plus a lot of things that are said in a EULA also do not follow every countries law.

Sometimes I even use my whole mouse and manually race it all the way down in order to hit the 'I agree' button.

Most of the time, if not all of the time their too long to read so i cant be assed. Scroll and agree

Pffft, scroll wheel is too much hassle. Just click the I accept button.

That is, of course, if it allows you to do so. They seem to be getting into the habit now where it won't let you select "I agree" until you have scrolled to the bottom.

yer thats a bitch, you do just wanna click agree...when i say scroll i just mean scroll just a few lines before thinkin...F**k that

LOL reading eula

I just skip past it as fast as possible, I dont care about legalities - you've read one you have read them all (with the exception of mmorpgs)

Sue 'em.

But seriously, it baffles me how they're allowed to do it. Example: disclaimers. Once upon a time you could get away with anything as long as you made people sign an agreement saying "everything is my fault." Well that's illegal now. They can't do stuff like 'we own everything you own' or anything like that. They're not allowed to. :p

Just to clarify, the "I agree" option means you agree that you read EULAs, not you click agree immediately when you see a EULA.

^^^
In that case, I Agree.

I'd do it. And their souls, don't forget their souls. Their rich, tasty souls.

Damn you! I thought it was a humorous "No" option. :(

Me too. I thought it meant you couldn't even be bothered to scroll to the bottom so you just clicked the "I agree" button....

I'm sure everyone remember the funny EULA research thingie some months ago, where some company put this line, on purpose, to the EULA: "If you have read this, drop an email at [email protected] and you will be rewarded with $1000"

Well, to their surprise the program was downloaded like 1250 times and one person sent that email. Now what does that tell about "Do you read EULA's ?".
No, I don't read them. I prefer open source software with GPL.

I also remember that in one version of MSN Messenger there was a line that would have forced you to defend Microsoft and/or its employees in a court.
