Hey all,

Im trying to port HL1 High Def models to HL: Source following the Valve guide Here But have ran into problems.

After finally getting the Zombie textures to convert to vtf, the next step says about compiling with studiomdl and associating the .qc files with compile_qc.bat. However, I dont seem to have this file anywhere and the other tutorials dont mention anything about creating it.

Im guessing it would be like the CS: S compiling model basics, but I get an error when it tries to access the QC file.

I've tried dragging the zombie.qc file onto a studiomdl shortcut on the Desktop and it comes up saying 'Working with zombie.qc', it goes through all the textures and compiles them I think but it doesn't do the actual model.

I can tell that the sequences are done because of the last modified time and date.

Any help is appreciated.

Like I said, I'm a damn noob when it comes to game editing. But I do know that you'll definately get more help if you post this here- the VERC network forums. :naughty:

Cool, thanks for the link.

I got to another one from there and got it further, it seems that having a space in a folder name was causing probs. So I had to move my steam folder and everything elsewhere. However now it gives this message when compiling:

C:\Documents and Settings\Mike>D:\steam\sourcesdk\bin\studiomdl.ex
od\test\models\zombie.qc
d:\myhl2mod\test\models\, D:\MyHL2Mod\test\, path zombie
Working on "zombie.qc"
ERROR: could not load file '\MyHL2Mod\test\models\/blue_zom.obj'
ERROR: Aborted Processing on 'D:\MyHL2Mod\test\models\zombie.mdl'

I think its smurfed, the tutorial never said anything about .obj files.
