You guys know that i bought all the new parts, except for the RAM. Now last night i shut my computer off, everything was fine. I went to turn it on this morning, and right after the windows xp loading screen was done, my computer restarted, and kept doing that over and over and over again. I tried taking each of the RAM sticks out, one at a time. But they both gave me no luck. Now, the only thing in my computer that isn't new is the RAM which i took from the old computer. Can it still be the RAM that is the problem? And if not what can i do?

Yeah, I think it's the ram. Had the same thing happen to me. I ended up formatting, and even then I would get blue screens. Took out a stick, no-luck. Took out the other stick. Ahhhh, found the culprit. Second Ballistix to go bad on me. >.< Damn Crucial.

Make sure ram is in the slot correctly, it could be out by a bit. Don't force the ram in either.

Well, I'd say, make sure the RAM is in slot 1 and 2 (rather than 2 and 3) but I'm pretty sure then your computer just wouldn't start up at all.

is it possible both sticks are messed up?

also, my friend posted this thread for me from his comp. its me shinra now. im talking to you guys on a second setup of windows xp. there are currently 2 setups of windows xp on this hd. i know thats not safe but i had no choice. i absolutely CANNOT lose the files that are on this drive. of course, everything i need is in the my documents folder on the other xp setup, and theres no way for me to get to that folder from here. so i need to find a way to get my documents off of the old xp install, or a way to reinstall the windows xp files without deleting everything. i CANNOT lose this data so PLEASE help.
