I think the hype for this game is slowly starting again, since the release date is getting closer.

Well, apart from none of us really being sure when the release date is, I'd say I agree about the hype.

Technically though, when you think about it in the context of "The date upon which the game will be finally released", the release date is always getting closer.

the forums are starting to come back to life

Arse wipe... hmmmm... that name seems familar...

Yeah, the forums are coming back to life a bit. With all the attendant posts by headcrabs, spammers and trolls that that entails...

Yeah, everyone is getting excited over the official release date of CS:CZ. It got me excited by showing they are peaking out of the closet ^ ^

yeah, hopefully, THIS TIME! it finaly gets released, ill be one happy camper :D
when it gets released, i rekon it will take down the internet and bring reality as we know it into another dimension.
meh, either ways fine with me.

its sometime early may

edit: may 12-14 is the expo

I always wonder why normal people can't go to the E3, it's only for the press....Well, that's not very nice. What if we wanted to give a lot of money for entering it? :afro: i would love that

I bet if you offered alot of money they would let you in....

Or just pretend to be a jurnalist or somthing... :p

Not really. Altough it's still #1 on my most wanted list, I'm not hyped anymore.
This summer checking Half-Life 2 Discussion was the first thing I'd do when I booted the pc, now I've catched myself first checking other sites, and then the Offtopic forum of this site.

/me wants the time with new HL2 news every day back.... ;(

I imagine there are restrictions on who can go to E3 to keep the crowds as low as possible. If you've seen pictures of it, it's packed to the shisenhausen.

some updates for steam and a release date for CS:CZ isn't exactly the hype machine for HL2 starting up again.

True, but i think we're all a little shocked and amazed that CZ is finally on it's way. A game who's development cycle can be compared to Daikitana and DNF.

Daikitana, biggest piece of crap ever
DNF, biggest piece of vapourware ever.
CZ, biggest piece of [lets wait till it's out to give it an abuse slogan]

Plus signs that steam is nearing completion. Or at least, nearing a stage where it's got all the key features. Most notable the ability to purchase games and the ability to play offline.

I'd say the hype moved up a tiny notch at all this news.

Which reminds me...is there some kind of IRC party planned for the HL2 release? (Dod fans would know about this)

There's an IRC party for everything... you just need to know the server and channel. :E

Excellent :D

Hopefully we can jam about 10,000 people into one channel, spam it to death, then completely crash the entire server. We'll have to plan ahead though....

Fun times ahead!!

It's not hard to get into E3...

My friend managed to sneak in last year, and he's 17, seriously, he told me there were only 2 security guards at the entrance and when it opened it was crazy so he managed to 'sneak' inside :p

I wish I lived in LA, then I could try sneaking in too.

i don't...

I've always figured that if I was able to get out of California I'd be able to get in since I have a loose connection to the industry. My boss goes every year. :D

But you never hear something about people who weren't able to sneak in and caught by the security do you? No that's right, you know why? Cause no one escapes it alive to tell someone, a 12 hour torture by John Carmack, Warren Spector and Gabe Newell is enough to break any person.

And If you manage to escape the big torture, you get sewed by everyone, it's still america guys....

I read in a pc gamer, that u could get into E3 for about 350 bucks or u can lie and say ur some journalists from some hick town in the middle of nowhere. thats what the guys in pc gamer said(not word for word though).

Nah not really.

Everyones too busy playing the UT2004 demo.
