You know what's retarded about these threads? It's always the same. Someone says something about anime, then everyone jumps on him because they either genuinely don't like anime (minority) or because it's trendy to hate anime (majority). Then people who watch anime bring up the "You haven't seen all anime/haven't seen any good anime" argument, followed by the "well, that's just, like, your opinion, man. Let him watch what he wants" statement. It's all so goddamned formulaic.

It'd be better that these threads just weren't started in the first place, if only for the reason that it's tiring seeing the same old shit over and over again. But I'll give you one thing: I'd rather read a thread on anime than threads on what kind of grocery shopper you are (sorry Raziaar), or how you wipe your ass. And people wonder why I don't stop by General Off-Topic.

Also, this is in the wrong section. Anime goes in Movies and TV. My condolences go out to Puzzlemaker who tried to make a thread, but instead got reamed.

Anime threads need a specific topic (like a certain series) to survive. Then we can just say "stop going offtopic" to people who feel the need to express themselves on anime in general, which is not the topic.

It's just like someone going into a topic about a certain game and saying "games suck". It's not only lame, but offtopic, and therefor not allowed.
