what do you think? should little banners be allewd in the sig?
(size restrictions)
 
If pics are allowed in signatures, I will turn signature display off. I come here to read and discuss news, not to see somebody's custom assault rifle / heavy metal band / Dragonball Z pictorial signature.
 
No, because you get the same repetitive crap.
 
We all want something, but that doesn't mean we'll necessarily get it. Many people find signature pictures annoying, and I tend to agree when you have 15 or so of them on each page.
 
I agree, picture sigs are a waste of bandwidth, viewing space and it hurts my eyes! ow

Although one idea would be to limit it to show your sig once per thread but with how many people we have on here that wouldn't do anything.
 
Sig pictures are cool in concept, but get old REALLY fast.

I hate sigs. I also hate sig pics...

Im a pile of hate really.
 
Signature pictures are okay when they're small enough, like 50 pixels in height.
It's not the end of the world not having them though, no signature pictures does make it look alot cleaner and is less of a weight on 56k'ers.

I voted yes, but I'm fine with whatever, they both have their pro's and con's.
 
Unless some Einstein offspring come up with a mod for vBull to set limits for signature pictures size and pixels and total signature size, I'll say no.
 
I'd hate for this place to end up looking like the DoD forum.
 
The thing with images is that you always get some beginner with his 100x300 sig totalling in at 2mb.
 
sig pics lag the site/forums to hell.
so obviously i would not like that option to be available.

besides, so many forums have this option, its nice to have a forum with a different feel and look to it than just ur regular bandwidth hog pics stressing the site server and such.
 
To be honest, you're lucky you still have avatars and normal signatures!

That'd take a load off the server when we're busy :naughty:

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but there are bots that can be made to regularly check sizes of image/text signatures on vB forums.

Not sarcastic, just not aware of every mod that exists for vB, I assume there are some limits as to what can be done, but I can't really see where they are.

So yeah, if you installed such bots, I could go with pictures in signatures.
 
Nope, makes the forum look clutterd, and diverts attention from the posts. Imo it's just annoying.

You know, it would actually be a good thing if you could see your own signature picture (have it seperate from the publicly showed signature), so you could easily identify your own posts.

Well, yes, but so many, so small, hardly makes it easy to spot when scrolling down the page, it would be much easier if there suddenly was a picture in the middle of everything.
 
no thanks... like the other guy said, nice in theory but too easily abused. How about the option for wider avatars though? Use up some of that extra space now the sides are gone! ;)
 
I hate big avatars as well, we dont need big avatars, only reason I even like avatars are there easy to spot users with it, for example Chris_D has the lil timmy (or whatever his name is), Pressure has a hotdog thingy, I got this one and will allways use it.. etc etc.

Big avatars are evil, even more so if there big animated ones, unlike small animated ones that are not annoying. Like Big_Hat's one.
 
they should and shouldn't. it all depends how they're used, what's in them, why they're there. i'd have to say to allow them in certain forum areas (ie. mapping, coding, concept art, etc.) and to have size limitations. i'd have to say no because of the hell on the 56kers and when bandwidth is being blown for the site.

-music
-anime
-guns
-games

Only original abstract stuff made in PS :D
