Here's the way I see this matter:

People will still be playing Half-Life 1 mods for a long time after HL2 comes out. Bar all the Valve-made Source mods, there will be no good games on the Source engine for at least a couple months after HL2 is released. Thus, people will still play games like Sven-Coop, Digital Paintball, Natural Selection and of course, TS for many months after HL2 hits shelves. Thus, in the short term, TS doesn't have a problem with not going to HL2.

However, when I learned that Valve is releasing Source versions of all of their games, CS:S, DOD:S, TF2 etc, suddenly the long-term chances of TS look grim. If all the other Half-Life mods go HL2, then the simple fact is that nobody will play Half-Life, and thus TS anymore. (I may be wrong about this if Half-Life is available on Steam free of charge and Steam has a lot of users, but anyways...)

I talked to Morfeo and told him of my willingness to do an HL2 port of TS, and his current answer is no. I got no definitive reason for this, the answer was no and no. However, he didn't bar the fact that he might change his mind in the future, maybe once HL2 comes out. However, I suspect there may be some other issues besides "I'll have to see the engine", seeing as there is more then meets the eye.

The bottom line is that at this point there are no plans for TS:Source so get them out of your heads. It would be really cool, but at this point it's a flat no. However, I'm still going to continue work on TS for as long as there is a community to appreciate that work.

Basically, no. :(

I reckon they should allow all the 100's of people who love TS to port it to Source if they're not willing to.

This will just open the door for THe Specialist knockoffs, same basic ides, different name and some subtle changes. To be honest it's an awesome mod that team put together, but frankly, it can be reproduced without morfeo and his team, they aren't that special. I would look for specialist like mods in a few more months, especially if there is no news from teh official team about a port.

TS was by far my favorite mod for HL1, although you need to give respect to The Opera and Action HL that came before it. I would like to see something like it come out for HL2.

The opera is coming to source, sorta like ts. Im sad thay arent coming to or letting somone port to source :(

Ya, people give a lot of credit to the specialists (well deserved) but there was also the opera and action half life which were both amazing, and are both going to be ported as far as I know, I've also heard speculation that TS is coming to source shhhhh........

If they ever do TS in source, a thing i always liked was RPing, they should put a game mode in it just for RPing

But there not making TS:S so i can only dream :(

Yeah, if he isnt going to do it then I'm sure someone else will. Why not port it over to source, TS:Source would be unbelievably awsome and the possibilities on the source engine are far greater then the older engine.

Nope... Action is dead. Action Unreal was an utter failure for UT 2K4, and they got so depressed about it, the team gave up on the Action brand as a whole. They also said no one else is allowed to make Action brand games. And as for the Ministry of Action (The team responisble for AHL: DC) they have no plans to convert it to source... so... yes... Action Half-life is dead.

Also, I have also heard the rumors about TS:S... Tee hee.

NNNNNNNnnoooooooOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo oh well, there is still the Opera :D
