So I got a new laptop, and I've put media and videos on here, and I'm trying to stream it to my 360 over my network. The problem here is that my 360 when using WMP to stream it, won't read any files at all. It doesn't show the Video Folder and when it sees the music folder, it just shows 2 random folders 1 being a band and another being iTunes, but nothing is inside them.

I tried using WMCenter and it worked out perfectly. I could view some videos and see all of my music files. However, this won't work as I don't want to use the 360 as a Media Center when I'm just trying to listen to music or watch a quick video. I have no idea what the **** to do either. I can't find one solid answer online either.

Can anyone please help me?

Summary:
Trying to use WMP to stream to 360 but the files aren't showing up.

PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Noodz to first person that resolves this problem.

Thank you Helplife2.net.

Google 'transcode 360' It's a free small program that allows your 360 to stream content from your computer. However, I think it only works when using Media Centre through the Xbox

I don't care for other programs as I've had WMP work flawlessly on the past 3 computers I've tried it on. I don't understand why it won't work on this one.

Your music isn't in itunes' format is it?

Of course not sir. MP3 all the way, and the videos are .avi. The thing is the music folder shows up but only 2 sub folders do and that's my iTunes folder which barely has anything in it to begin with and another band which doesn't have anything in either.

I also added a video folder, and that just doesn't want to show up at all.

:(

Maybe this has something to do with it, but apparently, the files that weren't on the HDD or the computer to begin with are the ones not showing up.

Like let's say I had Iron Man the movie on my laptop originally and set up sharing with it, that will show up. However, the 12 GBs of music that I copied from my external HDD onto my computer will show up. Also, the same happened for my other computer. I had to download episodes of a TV show, and when I moved them the first time, they played perfectly. Then I had to delete one season and redownload it due to the fact that the file format was completely incorrect, and when I went to add the new files, they won't show up.

And the same thing happened again for the music on my External when I had it on my other PC. The video files are showing fine, but none of the music or pictures will work, and it makes absolutely no sense as to why that is happening. I'm really getting ****ing sick of it.

And before you say, "is the ownership set?" Yes, of course it is. I've racked my brain on what to do, and I've come down to the fact that I've no ****ing clue. Ownership is set to allow EVERY****INGTHING that touches it. Plus, I have everything set to allow it being shared, etc.. I'm really about to ****ing break everything.

WMP11 has each folder added to it as well to allow sharing. I can't ****ing figure it out.
