i want to know how many people on these fourms prefer intel or amd

People prefer them depending on how they use their PC. AMD is better for gaming, and running single programs fast, Intel is good for running several programs (If you have Word, PS, Cubase on, you'll notice an *ìncredible* difference).
Edit: Btw, if you wanted to know which CPU to buy, you might want to describe what you use it for and we could help you. :imu:

In the long term I don't prefer either of them, at the moment I prefer AMD.
The thing with technology companies like these is that the companies are basically equal in the long run, they are constantly switching between who seems to have the better product and unfortunately people often see one companies products when it is they're turn to be on the top and then decide the other must always be inferior, the result is the "fan-boy".

Well after hearing alot from the athlon 64 side about how good at gaming it is, I almost got me one 3500+. That was my plan after I got X800 XT PE card and when I got it I was exited to try it on my current proccessor which is P4 3.06 Ghz. Did hl 2 stress test on res 1600 x 1200 on highest settings with 6 AA and 16 AF and reflect all, I got 59 fps! I was actully surprised since the FX-53 gets 65 fps which is currently the best athlon right now. Allso did 3dMark03 and got 11560 with x4 agp. Well a FX-53 with x8 agp got 12200.
So I'll keep my P4. But when win 64 arrives athlons 64 will be better than they are now.
