I want to summon a metro police man with a weapon

Activate console by clicking <Options> <Keyboard Options> <Advanced Options> <Developer Console> and hit the ~ key, next to 1.

type in: Sv_cheats 1 (enables cheat mode)

then type in: npc_create_equipment weapon_(whatever); npc_create npc_metropolice

I'm not sure about the exact npc name, or the exact weapon name. I only remember a couple. Let's see... SMG = weapon_smg, pistol = weapon_pistol...

I think it's npc_metropolice.

Striders? You can't. Something to do with AI scripting or some jazz. I'd be nice to do though and actually fight it in Garry's mod.

you need to noclip up in the air and do "give npc_strider". the strider won't walk around though.

I dunno... but in Episode 1 you can spawn a strider from the ground and it shoots at you.

That one tends to screw up. Give npc_strider works better.

Sometimes they clip through walls and the game hangs for me ;(

No idea. Might have to code them squad based. Use the search function to look for 'spawning' guides - I don't really know much beyond arming the buggers.
