After i checked the current HL2 weapon-listing ... i am missing the good olde crossbow ;( good bye "kill sum1 with 1-shot" weapon... sob sob...

There'll almost definitely be a "kill sum1 with 1-shot" weapon like a sniper rifle or something. But anyway, the entire weapon-listing is unknown so there might still be hope for you...

i never liked the crossbow, it took years to reload and seemed to be way too powerful. Now, if they had the explosive tipped bolts from multi in single, then i'd like it, but not until then.

i'm partial to some sort of wacky alien gun or maybe sme hi tech sci fi gun. I sure as hell don't want a sniper rifle in this game, they are in EVERY game. Unless this was special somehow.

the X-Bow was so funny in MP shoot it and its an instant hit no matter how far your away, and un-zoomed it explodes, lol! :')

Yeah, the crossbow was pretty sweet. The sound it made with good bass was probably my favorite weapon sound effect in HL1. Hearing that "bum" and killing someone from across the map, even when running, was very satisfying - used to do that all the time in Gasworks. But I think overall, the Tau Cannon was my favorite, especially on Gasworks. Not that many people really understood how to use that gun: see people, get a wall between you and them, blast the wall at full charge and watch the gibs fly. I think one time I killed like 5 people with one shot from that gun; that was badass.

The crossbow in HL is very balanced (powerful but hard to use effective), but that's disturbing sometimes...

When ping was 150 + Crossbow was good. But with new Netcode & Ping <40 its way too strong.
What i'll miss will be the Longjump Module. Hopefully there is one....hopefully HL 2 Gameplay will be as fast as HL 1`s.

btw.: I guess you will be able to jump and fly around the map (like you do with tau) in some kind with these anti-grav canon. Maybe right click on something you cannot manipulate ...and here we go

I dunno, cant put my finger on a reason, but they just didnt feel right to me. I didnt like the pistol, or the revolver, or any or the alien weapons.

Don't cry for the Crossbow yet freeman, the weapons list is probably only 15% of the total arsenal, at best.

HLDM has a nice Weapon-Selection, it still a lot more innovative than what you find in the average id-Game .
