how valve and Nvidia would of handled this ( bad performance of fx cards ) if Nvidia had won the auction instead of Ati

It only would have happened if their card was as capable as its competitor. This didn't really constitute another thread.

probably the same way, becuase gabe said that the reason they picked ati was for its great performance in half life 2, they wanted the game to look its best and run the best. so if Nvidia's hardware "was" better at it, im sure they would have lend towards them, and like at e3 they would have used nvidia hardware instead of the 9800pro, but thats in a dream world and in the real world ati does better then nivida at hl2 so gabe picked them.

Yea, just like Nvidia is for Doom III, ATI is for Half Life 2.

Valve chose ATi because of Benchmark test. So there would have been a different result if there was an OEM deal with Nvidia

But the result would have decided the deal. Not the other way round.
