Yes our computers say the release date is Feb 4th and to be honest i dont know why. The stratagie guide is schedualed for 02/02/04 also. I have a bet going with two of my co workers that the game will be released on the 30th. " I said hey dudes why the f*ck is the release date set for the fourth of february".... and he said "Uhhhh....... i dont know but what ever the computer says is true".....then i says to him i says "Ok bitch put you money where your mouth is" .... he said "Ok youre on for 5 bucks " then i said "Easy Money for me to bang your easy mother with"..... and them some kid came in and asked"do you have any copies of BIG MOTHER TRUCKERS" and i said "What the hell did you say to me!!!?" and then my manager had to go into the back room to laugh.
 
well you have fun "banging his easy mother" when you win your $5

i guess you had to be there for this one

EB employees are injected with a special drug that makes them think that something has happened becaused it was "injected" when , in reality, it hasn't done anything at all. That my friends is what makes it so special.

I love computer illiterate people who say 'The pc is always right'. As a programmer I enjoy writing calculators for these people that randomly misplaces a single digit from time to time.

Its a bug in the system. My guess, a badass cockroach sitting inside the gamestop mainframe plotting to take over the world after US have launched all its nukes against everyone in frustration that HL2 didnt arrive on time. Its probably an illegal immigrant cockroach from Iraq too.

gamesop and EB are basically the same store...equally clueless employees and equal merchandise.

i'm not saying you're stupid, i'm just saying that the average gamestop/EB employee doesn't know half of what most of the keeper-up-to-dater guys on this forum know about hl2.

i bet you nationwide 90% of EB/gamestop employees would have the "the computer knows" opinion.

you should've bet him a copy of hl2 :D

gamestop sucks, everyone at my local gamestop doesnt believe me, and they're fat. you know, i still reserved it anyways..

lol yes...the gamestop in my hometown also has an abundance of fat employees.

i preordered it too though...but because i go to school an hour away from any possible place that would carry hl2 on the release date...except walmart and i don't want the SP only version thx you very much.

there's a sam goody but they get games about 2 weeks late and they're overpriced by $5

so i just preordered it with overnight shipping for that extra $5

oh well..i ordered from IGN which i think is actually gamestop's website...i have no idea since i've known about IGN for a long time but my hometown's only had a gamestop for about 3 months (and i've been there only 3x.)

i heard IGN usually ships games overnight the day before release day so you actually get them on release day...which is nice.
 
What hes saying is he, a nonclueless employee, is making money on the clueless wonders that work at these places. Good for him for not beleiving the damn computer.
 
you sure sound like one of 'em gamestop boys with your terrible grammar and horrible spelling.

psh, gimme a break, i highly doubt you work at gamestop, it just doesn't sound convincing enough. besides, even if you did, whats the relevance? we are already pretty much 100% sure the game is coming out the 30th, even if we dont know the gold date.

What I'm getting at here, is that this guy isn't an idiot trying to convince us it's delayed till Feburary 2004. He's just saying how he isn't an idiot and doesn't trust the Gamestop Central Computer.

Like we shouldn't.

I believe it's the X-box release date and Vivendi have made a mistake. This includes "Secret sources" that people are fond of quoting.

EDIT: People like Steelhed and a certain Website Director.

And Gabe himself has said that he didn't tell anyone the Feburary 2004 release date. "I have only ever said 30th of September".

It's complex really. These things called 'computers' run complex algorithms million times a second computing false release dates using Newton's method and Mendelian evolution.
The user is also furthermore required to misinterpret data shown on the aforementioned 'computer' for best results.
And THEN, it gets even better! The entire system is run on the Mayan calendar using the seashell as currency with xanaduian as its readable and programmable language, though 'trained associates' have been taught to estimate xanaduian...

PS: Both Newton's method and Mendelian evolution are fundamentally flawed in math and science.

Haven't we learned anything from all the discussions that we have had on retailer dates? They are almost always wrong. Don't trust retailers when it comes to release dates.
