The Dooms?
So you want them to make everything darker and the gameplay super repetitive to death? What Virus said, next gen Wolfenstein ftw.
This was announced about a year ago....
Story in a game is like a story in a porn movie. It's expected to be there, but it's not that important - John Carmack
Carmack = great at making engine technologies, but lousy at making games.
Hopefully it will be better than Doom 3... Though I honestly can't wait to see what John Carmack has up his sleeves this time!
I don't think megatexture was made especially for Quake Wars, it might be an RPG , afterall they already did a bit of RPGism by doom for your mobile
If thats a real quote iv lost even more respect for ID.

And would you say the same thing about Nintendo? They seem to have a fair number of very popular games that are all about gameplay over story.
First off, the DooM 3 engine was definately not a failure. Secondly , why does everyone here keep saying DooM 3 is shit? Oh no the a.i. wasn't perfect (let's keep in mind that you're fighting against demons and zombies not humans you fools). Story being shit? I can somewhat agree on that but it wasn't THAT bad to say it ruined the game.
Gameplay bad? Yea ok there. I thought the gameplay was excellent with a few things that could change (all games have this) like the flashlight incident which there is a mod for. All of the really interesting and informative Video CD's and PDA's were cool. Going into Hell was an awesome experience.
I guess DooM 3 only appealed to the original DooM fans.
No one is disputing that ID make great game engines, but Doom 3 was a lacklustre game. Complaints.. well aside from the flash light BS (I don't expect modders to have to fix game flaws..sorry), I'd say the monsters on the ceiling only in the cut scenes was a total rip (never occurred in game play..), as were the 'this rooms clear..oh noes!!!' secret hatch zombies come out behind you cheap attempts at tension were 10 on the lame-o-meter. Gabe Newell in one interview said something about how with HL and HL2 Valve try to ensure that the game experience doesn't cheat players in anyway, in that if the player dies it is there fault rather than as a result of deviousness on the part of the game designers, Doom 3 fails in that respect.
It's not a flaw it's a feature - part of the gameplay.Complaints.. well aside from the flash light BS (I don't expect modders to have to fix game flaws..sorry)
Thats not true. They can crawl on the wall and the ceiling, and you can shoot them while they are there. What version did you play - the Demo or beta? I replayed some of the levels in Doom 3 like 10-30 times, while testing my mods, so I know what I'm saying. There are many places when you shoot at them on the ceiling and walls. IIRC Delta 4, alpha 4, Administration, and a bunch of others I can't remember where I was though.I'd say the monsters on the ceiling only in the cut scenes was a total rip (never occurred in game play..)
I like it. Of course after you play through the game, and know where monsters are - it isn't surprising any more. It's hard to name any Single player games thats "surprises" don't get old after you've seen them once before. It kind of goes against the definition of 'surprise'.as were the 'this rooms clear..oh noes!!!' secret hatch zombies come out behind you cheap attempts at tension were 10 on the lame-o-meter.
Of course after you play through the first hour, and know where monsters are - it isn't surprising any more.
No it isn't, someone made it.
