believe it or not people with mental handicaps say "weird" things all the time ..since the norm is the opposite of "weird" and to them weird is the norm therefore you're laughing at something they find normal

as a former teacher of mentally handicapped kids (ages 14-19) I can tell you that what they're saying is indeed normal ..one of my favourite students was convinced Cinderella was real and that the fairy god mother would eventually visit him and make him normal ..but to strangers who had no insight into his affliction it might seem funny that he's rocking himself (stimming) while saying fairy god mother over and over again .the words to the layman might seem funny but the meaning behind the words arent so funny: the need to be normal
