"An intentionally indefinite length of time has passed since the incident at Black Mesa. (When you find out how long it's been, you'll know why we can't tell you.) "

I am probably an idiot, but is there ANY chance that there is something we haven't thought of? Could this be a prequal?

If not, look how (kliner?) has aged, it can't be more than 20 years, but then again the G man hasn't aged at all...

:monkee:

It's a prequel but people remember you from the future?

I've read that it's 10 years in certain magazine previews.

FFS, it's obvious Gordon has been in suspended animation since HL1 - this is how you explain that the player knows nothing, and how they are able to jump into a situation where civilisation has completely crumbled.

Indeed to Gordon no time has passed since he made the deal to work for the G-Man in HL. Gordon's still 28 (physically) ...

I've also read that it's 10 years after the original HL.

The Gman has aged, the gman was (or at least looked!) younger then K in HL1, he might be about 30, so going up to 40 wont look THAT different, but K who might of been 40 or 50 is going to look older when he is 10 years on.

Or maybe the Gman is an alien.

I think that while you were in Xen in half-life 1 thats where the time passed, and where barney said "there won't be much for you to come home to" that also might hint to city 17, so as soon as you teleport from the tram at the end, you teleport to city 17.

maybe city17 is like a prison in xen, in another dimension, in another space-time continuim.........just maybe
