IGN Xbox reviews Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

I played the demo version on my PC and damn does it look good. I may pick it up sometime next month. Or maybe I'll trade Brothers in Arms for it.

The co-op video was simply amazing. I really want to play this game. I will most definitely be buying this. That god I didn't waste my money on Brothers In Arms. :D

pc review is up although its exactly the same, every word of it,just if you were thinking of reading it

Great Co-Op video. Is that feature going to be on the PC too?

Hell yes! It should be better because of the controls and the map makers! I can't wait. Oh, and I love the microphone feature in co-op. You know, the one where you can yell out to attract the attention of the guards. I can see it now, "HEY! GUARD! GET OVER HERE!" :naughty:

Really?!?! You can use the microphone to distract guards?! Thats so awesome. I'll definitely be buying this one.

The score doesn't surprise me whatsoever, Chaos Theory's just looked fantastic this whole time. That Co-op video is just stunning, too. The unbearable wait of one week remains!

I've played through the demo so many times... I see something new or find a new feature every time!

I will be getting this for PC for sure. The Co-op looks like so much fun as long as you can get a serious friend to play that won't screw around. I must have played through the demo like 200 times. It's for sure the best Splinter Cell game yet. It's definately the best game I have played since HL2.

Yeah for XBox and PC you can play demo offline or you can go online... For PS2 you can only play offline... For Gamecube I'm not even sure if there is co-op? If it is, it is obviously offline.

And my friends called me obsessive-compulsive because I played it for 12 hours total :p

Screw your friends I have played it over 250 times, what do they have to say to that many times playing it?

lol

They say "get a girlfriend!"

Seriously.

But my friends can be jerks. Besides, you only have to pay for Splinter Cell once, but you have to pay for a girl's dinner over and over and over and over ad infinitum :)

Ok maybe I haven't played it 250 times but I have definitly gone over 35-40. Love doing that inverted neck break and I can't wait until wednesday/thursday when the game gets here.

Nah, I was exaggerating...a lot. I've proabably gone through it 15 times. That's a lot for me, though. Normally demos suck so badly that I don't even play it through once.

I found the Chaos Theory demo to be a pretty show, but nothing more than that really. It felt like Splinter Cell with a bit of a face lift (although Sams face was just downright ugly). I really don't get all the hype surrounding it, but I guess it's worth a bit more experimenting. The demo wasn't bad- not by any standards. It just wasn't the awe-inspiring experience everyone has made it out to be. I found it rather standard.

I've got a friend who d/led Chaos Theory for his modded xbox. We're gonna play co-op tonight. Too bad he went to his damn grandma's house for Easter...bleh.

Is this game out yet? Or has it just been leaked like any other game? Or did he d/l some other game that was allegedly Chaos Theory...?

its gunna be good. Just trying to persuade a friend to buy it, i wanna play the coop but if i dont know anyone that has it theres no chance. Im gunna force him to buy it, i remember the second one, waiting in the lobby rooms with people i didnt even know just to get a game going....twas crap

How different are the Xbox and PC demo? Or are they both the same?

They're pretty much the same except that the PC version has prettier graphics and the Xbox version gives you access to the shotgun attachment.

thats what im going to do.hee hee

I just played some co-op on the xbox version at a friend's place. We played for almost an hour on the first co-op mission (after a pretty short training level that teaches the co-op moves). It's a lot of fun and I think we were almost done with the mission when I got cut down by 3 guys that spotted me :( I guess my buddy made too much noise one busted out a flare and they saw me. After I died they kept looking around any my friend got killed by another guy patrolling the area that he didn't see.

We didn't save though sooo...we have to go through the entire level again next time we play. It's ok though because there's a bunch of vents and stuff we didn't even go in so next time we'll play it different. I'd be playing still but I'm at work now :(

EDIT: Turns out that he didn't d/l it. I just assumed he did...he knows a kid that can hook him up with games before release sometimes :D He would've d/led it I guess but he wants to play on live.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say how great the graphics are. I can run it at max settings 1600x1200 with max AA and max AF. It looks awesome. :D I love how Sam's suit gets all shiny when it starts raining in the demo.

I don't see any options for HDR, only specular lighting.
