Ignorance in the Half-Life community.

O god where to start. Okay so what im about to say has happened several times to me now. I was just playing DoD about two minutes ago, and i feel like chatting about HL2, so i type "WOOT HL2 IN 12 DAYS" and immedietley i start getting flamed, even by people who ive played with for months.

"dude that game is delayed until the holidays"
"my uncle works at sierra he told me its delayed"
"amazon AND eb games says its delayed, IT MUST BE TRUE!"

so i argued with them for about 5 minutes, i told them about the emails and interviews confirming the game, AND THEY DENYED THESE EMAILS EVEN EXISTED!!

This has happened to me in the past 3 weeks while playing HLDM, CS, DoD, and NS.

in short, WTF!!!?? MORONS!

Why do you waste your time trying to explaining to people? I tried to explain to a girl what RIAA was but she kept saying no it's the government and they arrest you if you don't pay for your P2P application.

Yea... I said something like that yesterday and as soon as I said it some guy was like

"OMGWTFLOLWTf HL2 IS COMING IN NOVEMBER BECAUSE THE STORES SAID!!!!!"

I gave up trying to convince him otherwise, come 9/30 I'll be holding a fresh copy of it in my hands.

There's a really good saying which goes "Arguing over the internet is like running in the special Olympics - even if you win, you're still retarded." I believe it was even accompanied with a picture, and yea, that's the jist of it - don't bother changing their minds, if they're confused morons they'll pay the price sooner or later.

Yeah, I wouldn't say it's the Half-Life community. I would say it's all the 11 year olds screaming into their mics with high-pitched voices during CS games. No point arguing with them. They believe what they want to believe and will stick their fingers in their ears to drown out the voice of reason.

I know i know, it happens to me couple time in different servers. I get flamed in sof2 server or some other games server when i talk about hl2. Just don't talk that much while playing with people who don't like what u like. I only talk a lot in the server when i find the people are friendly.

I was playing on a BF1942 server the other day and just posed a quick question about HL2 release and no one had even heard about the game let alone a release date.......weird?!?!

Those were probably gamers that sit around at home gaming 24/7. Or in their case BF1942-ing only stopping once in a while for food and sleep.

Wait until its true. Then they'll see the error of their ways. After that if they STILL deny it you can point and laugh. Don't worry 'bout it - in a way it should be satisfying because you know your right.
